Are SPs/agencies appreciated on this board?

In a few recent threads, I noticed some comments such as this one: "...this place has become a forum for SP and agencies to promote and invade our discussion...". On the other hand, I noticed that when an SP or an agency operator joins a thread, she usually generates a lot of interest/responses.

Finally, many hobbyists have probably noticed that SPs are a lot more active on TERB than here on MERB. TERB has become a true Community of Interest for both hobbyists and the supply side of the biz. For instance, I recall a thread last fall initiated by an SP following the murder of a fellow sex-worker in Toronto: within a few hours, there were at least 2 dozen sps posting. In contrast, MERB is still very much the domain of hobbyists. I suspects this is probably because of language: most Montreal ladies are Francophone whereas a large proportion of johns are US or Ontario unilinguals.

Whatever the reason for this difference between Mtl and TO, I see both pros and cons to having SPs actively participate:

Pros:
1 - I get a supply-side perspective on the various issues.

2 - I get insight into a particular SPs personnality/offering. This puts texture on the otherwise rather interchangeable text I read on their websites. If this is self promotion, I don't mind it at all.

Cons:
a - Negative reviews are as useful to hobbyist as positive ones. Although this has not happened to me, I would probably find it difficult to post a negative review of a high-profile SP, even if it is carefully worded. Anybody who manages staff knows how difficult it is to give poor evaluations to the face of the employee. I think this phenomenon leads to some autocensorship on the part of hobbysts, which defeats the purpose of this board.

What are your thoughts ?

BTW, this has nothing to do about their undeniable "right" to post, but about whether hobbysist appreciate it.

I really don't care if a sp or an agency comes to this board and post. If they identify themselves correctly as a sp or an agency, then no problem.

The problem I have is that some agency will pretend to be hobbyist writing reviews on this board about their girls.

I agree with AB and survivor.
However, looking at the past six months, are we as neutral as we could/should be when time comes to post on a sp who is also a member.
We recently had experiences where many of us came to the defence of an sp (I believe for a good cause), but nonetheless!!
I would like to hear from members on this touchy issue.
It would be interresting to hear the Bob Crane's of this world.

hotanik,
The content of your first sentence is probably right.
But, what if that posting had been made following a meeting between the two subjects.
What would have been the reaction, if any?
That's what is somewhat bothering me.
Are we giving sp members a special treatment? Or it may well be that all sp members are so good at their respective business!

There are people on this board that appear to be customers, but in fact are the SPs, MPs, and the owners of said operations. They use the guise of a client to allow them to wax poetically.

However, this board is sort of like an automatic bullshit detector. Someone posts an stunning review, and people immediately want to "try things out". If you see a stunning review followed by a totally opposite, crappy, horrible review, it is your indication that not everything is as you see.

Good posters will file honest reviews that are clear and understandable. They will attempt to seperate the subjective (measurements, hair color, pricing, punctuality, etc) and the objective (things I liked, things I didn't like, things that turned me on, things that turned me off, etc). They make clear that certain things in your review are based on your personaly desires ("I prefer larger girls", to explain why you didn't like the appearance of the thinner SP, as an example).

In the end, good reviewers, even if you don't agree with them, will be easy to spot. Shills and shysters will also be clear, and you will be able to easily filter out there strident cries.

Girls like Anik being present, honest, and open about their presence is not a bad thing, provided we don't get into "he said she said" type discussions. They have to learn to accept reviews for what they are, one persons view of a meeting as it went from their PERSONAL point of view.

I'm new to the board; that is a months old. I am coming to Montreal in February and have searched the board extensively
to narrow down my choices of escorts based on the reviews and comments of the members here. It didn't occur to me initially that it would be easy for a provider to "mask" as a client. It did seem strange to me that one review was great and the next bad. I'm not convinced I can tell for sure whether a post is true or just a promotion. But I've read enough in the previous posts to be able to start to "weeding out" promos; I hope. Thanks
