With this post and thread I want to offer the etiquette for clients who meet SPs. Post your suggestions and it would be cool if it remained as a sticky.

* Making an appointment:

Do research by reading the spreadsheet located at http://www.sexwork.com/montreal/spreadsheet.html as well as reviews on boards like this one. The idea is that this way you shouldn’t be scammed or fall on a lady that doesn’t meet your requirements in terms of service or appearance;

Don’t send rude, obnoxious detailed emails to SPs, they are deleted and not returned. Be polite if you contact them by phone, your conversation is like an interview. Make your inquiries through backchannels whenever possible. You may ask about a SP's services if you know beforehand that this agency is okay with it. That’s what research is for;

If you have certain preferences (schoolgirl fantasy, stockings, pigtails, thong, etc.), mention this when booking, especially in advance;

Give your address or hotel info as well as a phone number where you can be reached should there be a last minute problem;

* The date:

Tidy up your apartment or hotel room to make a good first impression;

Turn the porch light on so that she can easily find the house;

Dress up. You don’t need a suit but don’t look like a slob;

Take a shower before she arrives and make sure you smell nice all over. Brush your teeth and trim your nails;

Place your gift in an unsealed envelope, in a place where she'll notice it. Don't count it out, show her where it is and go wash your hands;

Be considerate and don’t ask questions that are too personal or possibly embarrassing like how much money she makes. Escorts are women and they should be treated like women;

If the escort is more than half an hour late, call her or the agency to check on her status;

Offer refreshments and possibly snacks as well. It breaks the ice and alcohol can loosen the both of you up;

* Afterwards:

If you meet the lady at some future time on the street, you may smile politely, like you would any other woman, but don’t approach her as it could blow her cover with her friends and family. Let her make the first move;

Don’t call out her name for the same reason, it's most likely not her real name anyway.

If you prefer doing so...

But, whoever goes to your place has your address, phone number, real name...high security.
All the above is on a list kept by the provider (ind. or agency) and could pup up at any time in the future..once you are a public figure!!!! Your employer may like it at one stage!!!

FM thechoice is yours.
But be assured that with the computer era most agencies and even indie sp's keep a database of their clients, names details, address, phone number, email address etc. even if they say they do not.
It has happened in certain cases that this database was copied by someone leaving an agency.
I am not sure that even with a reputable agency I would want my personal information on a criminal enterprises hard drive.
Should this agency be raided for whatever reason (accidentaly hiring an underage girl) you can be assured that your personal info will show up and you may get a call from the LE.
Much better to borrow a buddies apartement to make your hobbying calls (;-)

Take a shower before she arrives

FaceMaster:

I appreciate your insight on Etiquette for hobbyists.

Some of the threads a few weeks back talked about escorts showering before a session. I definitely agree that we get better service from SPs when we follow the sames rules of cleanliness - take a shower and brush your teeth before the escort arrives.

Think of an escort getting a bad review because she gave less than stellar on someone who hadn`t washed all day or doing DFK on someone who hasn`t brushed their teeth for 18 hours.

Some escorts I have seen have mentioned negative or less than stellar reviews they got because the client was filthy. This is not so uncommon a problem with the review boards. Think about the source next time you read a bad review. You never know the real reason for the level of service when an SP has lots of great reviews then one or two bad reviews.

Better service comes from folllowing these basic rules like FaceMaster said.

Thanks for both your viewpoints. Fortunately, I'm not the paranoid type even though these situations have already crossed my mind.

Personally, I'm not ashamed of my hobbying, in fact several friends and family members (!!!) know about it. And frankly, a visit from doesn’t LE scare me at all. Call me naïve if you want but I'm comfortable and have nothing to be worried about.

Speaking of health risks, how serious would you consider them?

Say you had CBJ and no kissing, the risk would be very low, but what kind of risk are you taking with and kissing? Have there any problems in Montreal with girls getting sick?

Seems a bit ridiculous... personally, if a guy isnt clean, they wont get bad service, they will get none. If a guys personal hygiene is lacking when we meet, I would refuse the call (not even bother to ask him to take a shower... that should be given)

This still boggles my mind, I am an incall user and asking to take a shower before the frolics is a no-brainer for me as I can see only advantages to it. Let me review them:
1) If the girl is not set-up to allow me to take said shower, it is a good indicator that i am dealing with someone who is not interested in the sensual side of her work and only wants to gets me off as quick as possible. I can get the same with a Janine video and some lube :)

2) It lets the woman know not only that you are clean but also that you are willing to take time to get ready for her . In a job where most guys treat her like a inflatable doll it puts you at a distinct advantage.

3) Never ask for the clock to be stopped while you shower it makes you look cheap and it's not 5 minutes that will detract from the experience to come.

4) The shower allows her some time to recover from your meeting and gives her time to get ready mentally as she has now met you and hopefully has realised you are not a complete dork. When you get in the shower, ideally you will have gotten the monetary unpleasantness out of the way and you can let yourself relax and get in the mood properly

5) A clean and fresh smelling guy has a good chance of being able to be permitted to unleash his best weapon: DATY.

Cheers,
BJM

Personal Pride?

I can't say as I blame you for not providing any service PERIOD should there be a lack of personal pride on the part of the client. It makes one wonder where qualities like common sense, personal pride in one's appearance, health and cleanliness, not to mention just plain courtesy have gone these days. Half the time in the men's washroom, soap and water aren't used after using the toilet or urinal, so it comes as no surprise to me that you are confronted with people like this.

As for the paranoia about providers keeping information on people I find that crazy. I sometimes cannot even keep emails straight! What kind of time do these people have!! Anyhow, I once had a page of suggestions such as these and was chided for being too strict (ha! I still am, it is just not noted anywhere! lol).

Really though, we all know there are possibly consequences to our actions and as far as I am concerned, unless you are prepared to confront the issue, should it come up, you probably should spend a bit of time coming up with an explanation before you continue hobbying (or SPing). I am not suggesting you let your guard down and give all kinds of information out, but that you respect an SPs need for security (whatever that may be) and if it is too much for you, you move on. However, let me note that generally in the US the agencies that dont ask for information are the most likely to be used for sting ops.

Thanks

Oh man. Compared to the people that *do NOT* wash their hands at all, I prefer the ones that at least wash their hands. *sighs*.

T-Minus .. well, so many days until I arrive to Montreal and call up an agency for the first time:)

regarding the "don't receive at home" advice...
I came across this comment from Karma : "it is outcall only and I do not visit residences." ...
Why would an SP not want to visit someone at home ?

Personal safety reasons. If you are deranged and wanted to beat or murder an SP, it's a whole lot easier to do it in a private residence than in a hotel which has security and a whole lot of potential witnesses to you removing the body.

I guess you did not hear about the last outcall SP who was murdered in Montreal a few years ago. It happened in a private residence after a fight broke out over CBJ.

Ducon, come on with these questions. This is all common sense. Karma/Helene is a smart girl and was not born yesterday.

Sorry guys that makes no sense to me at all.

Safety reasons, I would actually think that a residence is more likely to be safer, depending on location. While I can understand the risk of having your identity revealed on the net. This can as easlily happen in a hotel room. Not to complicated to install a few wireless microcams in a room. Have your wireless laptop and voila instant porn heaven.

No I believe the risks are the same hotel or residence.

However when I read an advert of an SP saying she does only high class hotels and no residence, I think this is more about marketing to the "$pecial" gentleman.

We are couple oriented and like to recieve at home. If an SP is uncomfortable with that, then fine I respect that. However I do not believe it to be about a risk factor.

But thats my 2 cents

In a hotel you can yell and be heard in the hallways and the rooms next door. Not so in a house.

In a hotel the guy cannot install one way mirrors, drill holes in the walls and ceilings, or hide equipment in the furniture. Not so in a house.

In a hotel there is at least one witness who saw you check in, and probably a credit card and video surveillance record of your visit. Not so in a house.

In a hotel it is unlikely that two other guys can be hiding undetected waiting to beat/rob you. Not so in a house.

etc.

Hotels are way safer for both the client and the SP.
