Is it really that cheap? Even if you're 40 and born in 1967, you pay $67 + $20 = $87. I booked the Hyatt for last week for $61 through PL.

HDLM's running a Christmas special where your birth year is the rate you pay. Old timers should really take of advantage of this!! Doc, you see this??? You could get a room for about $48/night!! :p

I wonder if Lewlo is going to Mtl this year? Maybe i could tag along & get him to book me a room. :D

I'm with you. The rate/special doesn't seem like a good rate... at least for me. I was able to get the Omni Mont Royal for $70USD + taxes/charges at PriceLine. After reading EagerBeaver's post, I could have probably gotten it for somewhat lower.

However, with Hotel de la Montagne's special, it would have cost me more than $70USD + taxes/charges.

There's plenty of people out there that prefer the HDLM over the Omni and probably would consider it a worthwhile rate. I personally consider the Omni over rated at 4* on PL and it shouldn't be any higher than a 3.5*. BTW Ace, what was the total of your taxes / fees using PL after bidding $70? I'm gonna guess at the minimum the total would be $90/night.

Guarantee you wouldn't have been so happy had you been given the Crowne Plaza for your $61 3* bid. Geez, some people aren't happy with anything posted here.
