I want to head to Cuba for a Hummmm Holiday wink wink. I am looking to not use one of the popular tourist areas controlled by the gov. I read some ware that in the little towns you can have lots of fun with out the hassle.

So has anyone have any good advice for me, and as an example the place I heard about was called " Santa Maria Mar " near Havana. A small town with a few hotels les police than Havana and just as good service.

I would like to book flight and hotel separate as I don’t drink so ALL Inclusive isn’t that great a deal.

Thanks and feel free to PM me, I am going in May and will give a full report, just like my Riguad account to the board when I get back. So the more you help the more I have to right. I’m open to your " take one or more for the team"

Do not buy cigars off the street!

If you are planning to by cigars, do not buy them off a street vendor. These are likely rolled in peoples homes from scraps they pick up off the factory floor where they work or tobaco or herbs that are grown in their gardens. Starting last month the Cuban government has started to check the origins of the cigars as they leave the country. All cigars leaving Cuba must have the hologram sticker from the factory as well as the reciept from the government authorized store that sold you the cigars. If you are not a smoker like I am, then buy one cigar at the government store to try. Ask them to recommend you a mild cigar. I like Monte Cristos number 2 and number 4s. a thinner cigar is better for the non smoker as there is less tobaco burning when you lite it. To maximize your alotment of cigars you are allowed 4 boxes of 25 cigars as well as 24 or less loose cigars and 200 cigarellos (cigarette type cigars) per person. I recommend that you bring back your full alotment if you can afford it. (you will be very popular if you do)
Buono dias, and good luck with the Senior eaters!!!

P.S. Don't be cheap with the senior eaters. If you spend $140 CDN. here in Montreal for a one hour visit with an SP. Then give them the $100 American for the day, you will not regret it. Have fantastic sex ever 2 or 3 days rather than have regular sex every day. In restaurants you will be charged the same price as you would pay in the states, with a 15% tip added to the bill. (the waitresses and waiters do not get the tip, Fidel does.) So, if you hand them $2 at the begining of the meal you will be served like a king. If you realy like to reward the hotel staff, tip them but the best thing you can do is go to wall mart for your vacation wardrobe and give it away before you leave Cuba. They might sell it or use it for themselves.

P.M. me for more details.

my 2 cents

I was there last year and it was beautiful!!! I would love to go back. IF you can, bring lots of toothpaste, hand cream, candy. These are a few things that cost alot to them. I gave our chamber maid a little basket and 20$ and the beginning of the week and she did her best to make sure I had extra everything ;) She even brough coffee to me in the am :)

In this case it truely was the little things that counted :)

Celine xoxo

P.S. Have fun ;)

For your sake, I hope you're not depending on only information gathered from MERB to navigate Cuba. I haven't been to Cuba but from the trip reports that I've read, Cuba while safe for tourists, isn't the easiest hobby destination around.

If your Spanish isn't up to par, the Pimsleur guides can be most helpful. However, they are a little pricey so if you don't want to buy them, another way to go would be to download them through Kazza, WinMX or BitTorrent.

For more relevant info, see:

www.worldsexguide.org - a good free site except for the pop-ups. Oh well, guess someone has to pay the bills.

www.sfredbook.com - free site, not sure about the amount or quality of Cuba information but I have found the posters there to be quite helpful.

www.clubhombre.com - a paysite but their Cuba section is quite comprehensive, there's even a mini guide on how to buy cigars from locals.

www.worldsexarchive.com - another paysite, I like their Russia section but can't really vouch for their info on Cuba.

Cuba is safe as Montreal.

It is just as safe as Montreal, just do as you do in Montreal. Just as you would not let stangers lead you into a dark alley in Montreal, don't do this in Cuba. Stay where there is a lot of people and you will be OK.

That's odd, the same thread in three different sections, talk about board clutter

foxhunter5,

You should delete the other two and keep this thread in the lounge.

I put it in all three to get the most response; you saw it in all three didn’t you!

On Terb we do this because not every one reads all three so we get better hits. As for board clutter, no one asked you to highjack this thread with your sniveling and useless comments, If you don’t have any hints then don’t waste our time here!

Thanks to all those who had helpful things to add, as to those who just want to up their post numbers " donbusch "

Oh yes, I finally noticed that you had three "Help please" posts but that was after I offered you help on Cuba and directed you to the more useful Cuba info sites. Had I known that you were a board clutterer and an extremely ungrateful piece of crap, I would never have given you the earlier information. My request for you to remove your two other Cuba "Help please" posts from the Montreal incall and outcall review sections and to keep it in the lounge was perfectly legitimate and if you're taking offence, may I suggest that you go seek some help on your anger management issues.

Who are you kidding? That is not an accepted practice on TERB and if you really believe your own nonsense, why don't you go post your three Cuba "Help, please" threads on TERB and see what FZ, Sheik and the other TERB mods have to say about that?

Better yet, to get "better hits", post in all TERB sections.

You're right, I should never have given you all that useless information on the Pimsleur language guides and directed you to the Cuba info sites like WSG and ClubHombre. I'm sure you know loads about the Cuba scene so much so that you actually think there are areas in the police state that is Cuba which are not controlled by the government (maybe you should bring your anti-Castro t-shirts with you) and that the best places to stay in Cuba are the hotels. Oh well, ignorance is bliss, right?

By the way, you don't have to worry about my post counts, I keep that up by writing reviews, uncovering shills, offering help on topics like hotels, currency exchange, etc. Such "time wasting" posts. As if all my "useless" information wasn't enough, I also increase my post counts by flaming lowlife rejects like you. Take your foot out of your mouth and crawl back into your little hole, foxhunter5.

FH5 you`re out of your league when you insult a respected poster like donbusch.
I`ve been to Santa Maria beach and its as restrictive as anywhere else in Cuba.
Your feeble attempt at sarcasm and your rude stupidity are laughable.
Crawl back in your hole.....

In view of the moderator's new guidelines, I shall not waste any bandwidth roasting foxhunter5.

However, I would like to point that this isn't just a simple case of a disagreement spinning out of control; one only needs to look at Foxhunter5's posting record to know that he has anger management issues and little respect for his fellow posters. I don't see why anyone should have to put up with unprovoked attacks and hope that the moderator will consider doing something about Foxhunter5's unreasonable behavior.
