I should spend less with life expenses going up, the dollar down, but I probably in the end will spend the same as last summer. SO will be looking for those speical 2 hour rates.

During summer and spring, it's less demanding to find hot mamas. Women go from prude to sexmaniacs, wearing mini skirts high heel sandals exposing whatever god gave them or whatever enhancement they afforded during winter.

If I pay for sex is because I'm looking for something very specific and failed to find it.

Dollars are tighter, more consideration to how I spend for sure... It's already reflected in my recent activity...

Less money for hobbying.

Gas prices are cutting into my budget for everything, so that means less everything. Hobbying is a luxury, Either I get less, or find better places to spend my money. It is amazingly frustrating to spend good hard earned money on some of the disappoitments that I have experienced in the past. So, maybe it is better to stick to the tried and true. Merb is a great help to point us all in the right direction

Guys what is a matter with you. As responsible merbites we must do our part to keep the economy growing. Spend, spend, spend if you run out don't worry hfc, beneficial, credit card companies, they all have lots and they don't mind financing leisure activities afer all this is a hobby. Our needs must be met:)

I agree Daringly,

Im trying my best to support the local Montreal economy....:D

I think the dollar has bottomed now against the loonie.
The central banks of the world sound willing to fight commodity inflation by raising rates. The US markets are expecting the fed to start raising rates in late summer/fall of this year. The G-7 meeting this weekend may produce a co-ordinated currency intervention to strengthen the US dollar.

Less because my earnings are dependant of whatever happens with the US Economy and the increase in oil prices is directly affecting my profit.

Hello JH Fan,

I can imagine that the response of some to your statement is that Americans have been spoiled too long by low gas prices much of the world does not enjoy. And that American indulgence in gas guzzling vehicles like SUVs and the lack of effective mass transit makes them their own worse enemy. Maybe that's all true. Still, the fact is the U.S. is a commuter society reliant on individual vehicles. So the reality is that the near doubling price of gas in the last two years has cut very deeply. Then there is the rising cost of everything else related to the cost of oil and it's production. Couple all of that with the 30% loss in the value of the dollar over the last four years and rising escort rates and there is no way most can afford to maintain the same "Montreal Entertainment" expenses they allowed themselves in the past. After 31 voters voting in multiple categories those looking to spend less or save in some way outnumber those who plan to spend the same or more by 34-13...almost 3-1. This poll shows...most are looking to cut back. The agencies should keep all of this in mind.

Good luck,

Korbel

Korbel,

I agree with you....my Montreal Enterainment expenses feel like they've gone up 40-50% if you factor in the higher airfare. The hotel costs are about the same and using priceline has saved me big $$$.

Looks like most are looking to cut back, but will they really????
Im sure we've all had that conversation with ourselves about spending less on the hobby.....lol

A senior member commented to me via email that " it seems to be tough to find good SP's these days. Either I am getting too picky or the many available are just not the same quality as before."

I told him he's getting more picky! I dont think he plans on bringing down his summer hobby budget.

I've had some of my most memorable experiences lately. I actually prefer to drive to Montreal because I so rarely get to drive my car in the city, its fun to hit an open road every once in awhile. And priceline is great, yeah.

Your "Hobby" Budget for the Summer? I've noticed that it seems like there are more SP's at agencies than I can remember in my hobbying lifespan. I've seen over 20 girls on the Devilish line-up at times!

I wonder are weak dollar/strong loonie and slow US economy are finally having an effect on the Hobby scene in Montreal where the John's are not coming or spending less. I talked to one SP who told me that most of her clients dont tip. An agency star told me that she usually get's 6-7 calls a night, now only getting 3-4....

The grand prix week and weekend is a baramoter of the summer season. I saw a lot of people out downtown but I expected it to be much more hectic and it wasnt that bad. Evening booking and seeing who I wanted was relatively easy....

So.....

I wonder how YOU the merbites plan on spending your hobbying dollars this summer???

Vote for all choices that apply....you can vote for more than 1 option.

VOTES ARE PUBLIC!!!

Hello Banger,

The other poll favored cutting back expenses by spending less or cutting hours heavily, by nearly 3-1. That would indicate the need for agencies to hold, cut rates, or offer specials. So if the agencies were skewing the vote I don't see how they achieved anything in their interest. But it is "unique" to have someone vote for conflicting answers like Rumples. Maybe you can explain that one...lol.

Voting publicly caused me to think about the consequences more. Did that skew how I voted? Well, the option I would prefer is not offered so I voted more conservatively than the last time.

I always tip something whenever I am reasonably satisfied with the meeting, and that means I tip 95% of the time. As for my vote, I had already cut back the time and expenses with SPs by half last year. So my cutting back even more this year should be viewed with that in mind.

Cheers,

Korbel

Lost cause trying to explain how a poll should be structured to avoid manipulations or how pollsters should avoid comment to avoid manipulating their poll, so I will no longer bother.

Gas prices would make an excellent analogy of the phenomena mentionned above. Run a similar poll about gas prices and you will generate a much greater ratio saying that people will drive less, take public transit, and all the other correct responses. The gas companies have a strong vested interest in getting such a response because it allows them to further manipulate the market.

In the North East of the USA gas is over $4.00 /gal. The $4.00 benchmark has been topped. People are commenting that they will reduce usage, travel, etc. Gas companies are happy. Raise the price to a level approaching $5.00 then drop it so that at the $4.00-4.50/gal range it looks like a bargain and people return to normal usage patterns thinking that they better make that frivolous trip now before gas prices reach the $5.00 or $6.00 / gal benchmark.

Agencies do not have a sophisticated usage tracking system in place but most have a great feel for the male psyche.

Hello all,

He's still bitter. One must wonder what non-hobbyists have to offer about this, and why they stick around at all????? Certainly they have no reference from experience and therefore much less feel for real hobbying situations. At least those considering a meeting have vested interest.

Toodles,

Korbel

Hi Korbel

It's not really about US having been spoiled.
Because no matter how bad I can feel now about everything that's happening in the world because of the U.S. I would be very hypocrite to say that in fact I just missed the old days when I used to love everything that was coming from down south.

Let's face it ! Whatever happens in the world right now is not only because the american way of life, the present admin or people being too spoiled.

Also I would be stupid to suggest to Agencies to cut back or ask rebates, etc. because I left the stripclub scene exactly because I could get a lot more for my $$$ with Sps....and they are struggling themselves the same as everybody with alarming increases of pricing in crude.

The fact remains that everybody who knows a little bit about the world economy and is not in a niche where money flows should if not already be very careful about the futur.

Although I might end-up doing like Daringly and instead indulge myself while there is still time to do it and to make sure to do our part in keeping the good work the agencies does in getting those beautiful girls here.
