Police ask alleged sexual assault victims of Montreal businessman to step forward
MONTREAL - Montreal police are asking alleged victims of a man suspected of sexually assaulting prostitutes in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Verdun and Ville-Marie areas of the city to come forward.
Giovanni D'Amico, a 41-year-old businessman, was arraigned in court yesterday on 11 charges, including sexual assault and uttering threats against at least four prostitutes between 2002 to 2007.
D'Amico is president of a website-creating company, and was arrested Wednesday. D'Amico plead not guilty at his hearing yesterday.
Police say D'Amico approached his victims for sexual services. He then threatened them, locked them in his car and assaulted them, said Montreal police Constable Olivier Lapointe.
Police believe more potential victims are out there.
