The Age Issue Thread

The purpose of this thread is to discuss the representation or misrepresentation of age in the sex industry. The starting point is that we accept the age of majority as being 18 in the province of Quebec. I would like to feel that there is universal agreement that underage workers should be discouraged to the full extent.

Some feel that the age of a sex trade worker should be absolute without any poetic license while others feel that some flexibility is acceptable since it is part of the fantasy aspect.

Not interested in compiling a list of workers or agencies that play with the numbers for whatever reason or reasons, rather I wish to focus on the broader issue of the importance of the topic.

EE,

Do you really expect someone to post something like... yes, underage girls are great? Of course underage girls should be avoided, and reported to authorities when proof is available.

I agree with Daringly, if an SP wants to fudge her age by a couple of years, who does it hurt (you can always send them away)? If I wanted to experience a teen (college girl;) ) fantasy, and the 21 yr old SP shows up in a schoolgirl outfit and looks the part, I'm not going to complain.

I hope that this isn't another "agencies & SPs lie about their age" witch-hunt, just better worded?

Regards,

Voyager

No witch hunt intended and I will quickly discourage any such tangents.

The underage comment was made to indicate that it was not the focus of the thread.

I think that it is wrong if minors are working for agencies or even independent except in ONE circumstance... The minor is over 16 and is emancipated.
In this circcumstance, the minor is declared their own legal guardian and is supposed to have all the rights of an adult except that they cannot purchase alcohol nor cigarettes.
If the courts can deem that the youth is responsible enough or that they would be in a batter position to be on their own, then I think that the person would be responsible enough to make their own choices.... In many situations, emancipated minors turn to prostitution because landlords and employers refuse to respect the court papers and the minor is left with very little choices. Other cases may be the same as a "real" adult making the choice to escort on their own. Especially here in quebec where the only people to acknowledge emancipation are the police and the DPJ.
In retrospect I do believe that the girl should be honest with potential clients about their age. (Mind you,I am being a hypocrite in saying that)

Emancipation

The issue of emancipation of minors is not relevent to the thread. Legally it is rarely invoked and the posters own example argues against it - if the purchase of alcohol and cigarettes is not allowed then participation in the sex industry would be off limits.
