Test Your REAL Choice for President: IF YOU DARE...lol.

    Hello all,

    http://www.vajoe.com/candidate_calculator.html

Here is something you might enjoy...in a shocking way. Answer the questions and rank each question's importance to you honestly. When you reach the end the system will ask who you plan to vote for. Well, you all know I am an Obama man. But, based on your answers, compared to all the candidates known positions, this system will calculate who is really closest to your views. I plan to vote for Obama. But, I got........

    Ralph Nader (Independant)
    78.18% match

    Your Other Top Matches
    Barack Obama (Democrat) - 68.18%
Cynthia McKinney (Green Party) - 52.73%

    Middle of the Pack
    Bob Barr (Libertarian) - 41.82%
    Chuck Baldwin (Constitution) - 32.73%

    Bottom of the Barrel
    John McCain (Republican) - 25.45%

    And I hate Bob Barr.

    Good luck,

    Korbel

Though I'm not American and won't be voting,

    Thanks for sharing Korbel,

though I'm not American, and won't be voting in the US, I gave the quiz a try.

    My results:
    Top Match
    Ralph Nader (Independant)
    99.02% match

    Your Other Top Matches
    Barack Obama (Democrat) - 76.47%
Cynthia McKinney (Green Party) - 70.59%

    Middle of the Pack
    Bob Barr (Libertarian) - 39.22%
    Chuck Baldwin (Constitution) - 37.25%

    Bottom of the Barrel
    John McCain (Republican) - 13.73%

    99.02% !? Beat that!

    Talking I am an indy

No surprise given my independent views:

    Ralph Nader (Independant)
    91.30% match

But if I were allowed to vote, I wouldn't waste it on Nader. it would go to Obama.

I know, strange to be in such agreement with a politician (of all people)!
Not so strange to be in agreement with you.

http://www.politicalcompass.org/ postulates that we don't actually fit on a linear political scale, but rather a two dimensional plane with two axes: left vs right (the economic scale) and authoritarian vs liberterian (the social scale). There's a test you can take as well, though it is a bit longer to take than the one you posted here. It shouldn't be a surprise, based on my previous results, that I fall in the 'Liberterian Left'... right next to the Dalai Lama.

    Ted

This lecture Jonathan Haidt at TED: The real difference between liberals and conservatives. is also rather informative and asks us to "think outside of the matrix" in Haidt's words.

Browse through the rest of the TED website, there are a lot of edifying lectures on there.

    Hello Agrippa,

This is a very interesting test. I hope you don't mind if I post this on a new thread.
