From CNN's web site: "Simpson could become eligible for parole in about nine years."

    Hopefully they have it right.

That's strange because when I was watching the sentencing the judge was giving the sentence as 15 years and parole eligible in 5 and all were to run concurrently. I'm sure CNN has it right though. Thankfully.

The only problem with him being in jail is that his relentless search for the real killer with have to be put on hold.

It seems to depend on what site you check. On MSN they say that he faces up to 33 years in jail and is eligible for parole after 9.

O.J. Simpson faces up to 33 years behind bars

A Nevada judge sentenced O.J. Simpson on Friday to as many as 33 years in prison for kidnapping and robbing two sports-memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel room.

There was initial confusion about the length of the sentence, but Elana Roberto, the judge's clerk, confirmed to the Associated Press that Simpson could serve up to 33 years but be eligible for parole after nine years.

With luck he'll never come out - let the prick rot there until he dies.

I didn't follow entirely what O.J. Simpson did at Las Vegas. If I understand well, in justice if you kill two people you are innocent and if you "lead a rag-tag band of men, two carrying handguns, to confront dealers hawking mementos from him and other sports stars" without killing/injuring anyone, you get 9-33 years of prison. The bottom line is, he got what he deserves but for the wrong crime!

    Hello Special K,

I have been described by many as a "bleeding heart liberal", which I never was in the first place. But as one who has been so accused, let me tell you this very clearly. YAAAAAAAHOOOOO ...finally some justice. I heard on CNN that this monster gets a maximum of 33 years. May he get ALL OF IT! It's just sad it's for the wrong crime.

    Thanks judge,

Welcome to Ame4rican justice, welll ok.... at least its not as bad as Canadian justice where three teenagers in alberta kill another innocent teenager and get 2 years each or if you are part of the (Canadian) Italian mafia you get less than that (except that is cost millions of dollars of police man hour billing the govt for special investigation), and to add salt to the wound, compatriots of the Cosa Nostra like Gagliano , and Zaccardelli get nothing and get away with public contracts and hard earned tax payer dollars. Come to think of it, I was listening to cbc radio , and some quebec government big wig, got caught for handing over lots of land to a guy named
Franco Catagnia without public tender for the highest bid again screwing the public.....I wonder how far behind the Italian criminal element is on this one?

On a different note, are the posters in red (specialK, g21gballday) male paying members of the site???

    Hello all,

It's nice to see the Goldmans have gotten some satisfaction out of this verdict and sentence.

Thumbs down I preferre the law in usa !

If he committed his crime in Canada, he will suffer 6 months in prison max.
I am very pleased that the Steven Haper's party won the elections. He will take a very serious measures against these dangerous crimenels and will apply the tougher laws to send these outlaws in jail for a long long time.

He is going "up the middle" and doing "end-arounds" in the streets of LA...all jokes aside...and we can say all there is to say about him off the field in regards to his personal life...however, O.J. remains one of the greatest and most exciting running backs to have played in college @ USC and in the NFL!.....his speed and cut-backs as a ball carrier were never equaled!
