In my line of work criminal check and fingerprinting is required to get into the U.S. to do my job. I think the new drivers licence will not be issue to people with criminal record They want better control on who is coming into their countrymetoo4 said:Criminal background check? What for? That's not even required for a passport! I have a NEXUS card and this wasn't even required for that!
According to cyberpresse and tva you are wrongTechman said:The new license will be issued to anyone who wants one and is ready to pay the $40 premium for it. It is not a guarantee that you will be granted entry into the US, it just makes it possible and easier for border officials to check your identity. There is no personal information stored on the card itself.

I know there are no info on the card but they have access to the canadian system and everything they need to know is right there in their face .In my case picture, where i live, fingerprint, my destination Once in a while they will ask if i stop at the duty freeTechman said:While you do have to prove that you are a Canadian citizen and have no criminal record to obtain one, there is no personal information stored on the card from what I have seen and read in the local media. So I am only partially wrong.
