Man stabbed trying to run off car thieves downtown

Police cordoned off Crescent St. below Ste. Catherine St. Wednesday night for several hours after an attempted car theft left a man with stab wounds. Around 8 p.m. a 20 year-old man found several youths trying to steal his car. The men got into a fight and one man stabbed the car’s owner in the upper body. Montreal police Constable Daniel Lacoursière did not know what the weapon was, a knife or some other sharp object, but said the victim was not seriously injured. After the fight, the car-jackers ran off, but one of them, age 19, was later apprehended.

Isn't that a busy part of town at 8pm at night? Why would anyone try to steal a car with several guys? Maybe its just me, but something doesn't sound right.

Typical liberal propaganda.... always blame the victim and always defend the aggressors.

Poor those aggressors, they grew up in projects, no food, money or prospect. They had to hit the streets,...., ETC. !

I was mugged near the intersection of Boulevard René-Lévesque Ouest & Rue Stanley three and a half years ago.

Same thing happened to me near that area around 6-7 years ago. In my case, it wasn't a 'mugging' per say. I had left after the 2nd period of a hockey game & on my way to the Sofitel to get ready for an appointment & somewhere past the Sheraton (at the rear of it, i believe) a group of african-american young men (gangbanger types) confronted me. I kept on walking as they followed me & one or two of them tried to step ahead of me. Good thing 'Chez Paree' wasn't that far, since that's where i managed to lose them. Since then, that area behind the Sheraton where they hung out has been fenced in.

Since then, the only thing that i was confronted with on my way to my hotel occurred last year after i had left a group of friends at Brutopia & i had decided to take a shortcut between Crescent & Drummond streets on my way to the Sheraton. As i arrived on Drummond, an extremely large rat about the size of a large cat suddenly showed up in front of me & made its way towards another building. This had to be the biggest rat i had ever seen in my life! I learned after that this isn't unusual for Mtl.

I am far from Liberal and I wasn't looking to blame the victim. I was simply making a point that it just didn't make any sense to me that it took so many people to steal a car. How could you possibly take what I wrote and interpret it as "typical liberal propaganda"?

LOL,

TGW very vaguely questions what happened in a way that could never be related to any specifics and you take it as something far more specific that you define as "typical liberal propaganda". Maybe TGW just likes to know more before assessing the event. You are some piece of work. Thanks, I needed the big laugh. :D

Snicker,

Merlot

Well put Merlot.
