I am actually happy.. why? because Mr.Gainey must really feel SOMETHING has to be done.
I think until now, he/they was/were thinking something like "we have a good team but need some experience".. and now after 5 years ???

The problem with Gainey coaching was that he coached like a general manager. The GM wanted Price between the pipes. The coach, for short-term purposes, would have wanted Halak after game 2. The GM won out.

Anyways, even if Patrick Roy or Jacques Plante would have been in the nets for Mtl in this series, the Bruins would have prevailed. This was a team with no heart & no talent (other than Kovalev & Markov). The team was over-evaluated this season because of last season's mirage. The Bruins & teams like the Sharks & Ducks are in a superior league. The Bruins proved it by sweeping the Habs. It was never close.

When was the last time a team was swept in 4 games in two consecutive playoff series?

Agreed, but it goes much further than that. Gainey predictably did a lousy job as coach but he did a worse job as GM. PJ Stock did a great job tonight of listing some of the mistakes Bob has made as GM.

He lost Streit, Huet, Souray and Ryder and got virtually nothing in return. He has never addressed the fact that the Habs are too small. He has far too many free agents; although this might end up being a blessing in disguise it still shows gross incompetence.

I could add that he unfairly dumped two coaches, both of whom are far better than he is. It was great to see the classy Claude Julien thump the guy who stabbed him in the back!

Price wasnt to blame for any of the goals tonight

That's for damn sure! Just look at that no-class cowardly thug Komisarek. Gets his ass kicked by Lucic and has to use his stick to try to get revenge. Zero guts and zero class. Komisarek doesn't deserve to be in the NHL - one of the most cowardly acts I've seen.

The game was over already there was no need for any physical play

whatsoever, they were both at fault.

And Komisarek certainly had guts facing Lucic again, knowing he got clocked the 1st time and that it probably would happen again. And it did. He's probably the only guy on that team that would make a good captain.

Montreal does not have the greatest fans. They have the most pickiest, and are the lowest class of all the league. As a Habs fan, it is embarassing the way they treat one of our own. As they have chased Roy out of the city, DON'T CHASE price away. HE is 21!

First, it's a minority of fans. Second, Habs fans in general are no better or worse than fans of any high profile team in professional sports.

Its not that we dont have good fans, We are just to hard on our team.
When things go wrong, MTL become haters.
We expect miracles, and everything else.

The way the fans reacted to Carey last night at the Bell center was not cool at all, He is our goal tender. Good try Carey, see you next season ;-)

Plus, I feel that they must also change Melanson. If you see how price played for Team Canada, the "butterfly" style is not for him. Price got converted, and it doesn't help. They should find how to fix it as well as see how he was playing before, because THAT is why they drafted him.

Habs fan

I'm really getting tired of hearing the 'he is only 21' excuse. If he is so fragile then he isn't ready to be the starting goalie in the playoffs. He tanked during the last two months of the season and if it wasn't for Halak the Habs wouldn't even have made the playoffs.

Gainey put Price ahead of the best interests of the team as a whole and that was a mistake and it was wrong. Halak got the team into the playoffs and he deserved to play in game three and if he had won, then to continue in nets. But Gainey decided to keep his golden child in nets and now Price is paying for it because of the reaction of the fans. So in the end, the team lost, the fans are disappointed and pissed off and Price's ego is damaged. Everyone lost.

The ramblings of spoiled fans!

Nothing wrong with Price, just needs a good defence and some experience. Goalies are forged!

Another thing in Montreal , if you happen to be an English speaking player, the media has you on a short leach. The likes of the twits on "AntiChambre" are just great at drilling any English speaking player, yet dare say nothing bad about the "others"!

It is so easy to point fingers while not really understanding what went on in the dressing room.

Montreal was without some of its key players!

The likes of Markov, Scheinder, Lang, Tanguay, Bouillon and the Breezer.

There is alot of talent on that team, but talent is not enough!

Its nice to sit and complain after a game is lost!

But do you have all of the facts! Was Halak healthy?

Get a more mature goalie ??? Who ??? and How ??? Whats wrong with Price ???

He looks a bit unsure, but did the media give a chance ?? NO !!!!

I have seen the Gumper, Roggy, Dryden, Roy, Penny stumble and stumble badly, and this with pretty good defence, yet they all performed well!

The big problem with Price is the way he covers his angles and the way he controls the play around his net. This comes with time.

The biggest disappointment I have is with the coaching staff!!!
Melason should have corrected Carey's mistakes and the defensive coach needs a quick swift kick in the head. This guy does not understand zone defence !!!

As for Muller, well the play making was what i see in the minor's . No answer to the center zone defence of the bruins. When the players challenged the center they had success, though its a bit more risky!

Montreal had to come out skating! Apply pressure with a quick transition and force the middle. Though this would of opened up the game but I think we would have had much more success. The 4 line combo seemed to be working for a while (preseries), but that was dropped for a more traditional style.

We have mobile defencemen , so let them carry and quite using Hamrlik for 20+ minutes.

Another observation I made was that Koivu was playing injured, Hamrlik had problems pivoting on his left. Latendress well that was so obvious it's not worth mentioning.
