It would be interesting to know how many of the lines were uttered before the movie was made.... for example:

# 38 "Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth."[13] Lou Gehrig Gary Cooper The Pride of the Yankees 1942

I remember listening to a recording (free Gillette razor give away floppy 45) and hearing Lou Gehrig's tremulous voice uttering these words.

Hello all,

Casablanca (1942) has got to be one of the greatest one-liner movies of all time. Five lines are listed in the top 100. Here's some great ones from the movie that didn't make it:

We read five times that you were killed, in five different places. As you can see, it was true every single time. Victor Laszlo and Berger; Paul Henreid and John Qualen.

As the leader of all illegal activities in Casablanca, I am an influential and respected man. Signor Ferrari; Sidney Greenstreet

I am making out the report now. We haven't quite decided yet whether he committed suicide or died trying to escape. Capt. Louis Renault; Claude Rains

I like to think you killed a man. It's the romantic in me. Capt. Louis Renault; Claude Rains

Monsieur Rick, what kind of a man is Captain Renault? Oh, he's just like any other man, only more so. Rick Blaine and Annina; Humphrey Bogart and Joy Page

Rick, think of all the poor devils who can't meet Renault's price. I get it for them for half. Is that so... parasitic? I don't mind a parasite. I object to a cut-rate one. Rick Blaine and Signor Ugarte; Humphrey Bogart and Peter Lorre

How extravagant you are, throwing away women like that. Some day they may be scarce. Capt. Louis Renault; Claude Rains.

What is your nationality? I'm a drunkard. That makes Rick a citizen of the world. Capt. Louis Renault, Rick Blain and Major Strasser; Humphrey Bogart Claude Rains Conrad Veigt.

I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here! Your winnings, sir. Oh, thank you very much. Capt. Louis Renault and Croupier; Claude Rains and Marcel Dalio

And remember, this gun is pointed right at your heart. That is my *least* vulnerable spot. Rick Blaine and Capt. Louis Renault; Humphrey Bogart and Claude Rains

Ricky, I'm going to miss you. Apparently you're the only one in Casablanca with less scruples than I. Capt. Louis Renault; Claude Rains

And what in heaven's name brought you to Casablanca? My health. I came to Casablanca for the waters. Waters? What waters? We're in the desert! I was misinformed. Rick Blaine and Capt. Louis Renault; Humphrey Bogart and Claude Rains

I'm only a poor corrupt official. Capt. Louis Renault; Claude Rains

Cheers,

Merlot

Braveheart

William Wallace: I am William Wallace! And I see a whole army of my countrymen, here in defiance of tyranny. You've come to fight as free men... and free men you are. What will you do with that freedom? Will you fight?

Veteran: Fight? Against that? No! We will run. And we will live.

William Wallace: Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!

For me the movie Wall Street has some classic one lines

"If the guy owned a funeral parlor no one would die"

"Not only would you sell your mother to make a buck, you'd send her C.O.D."
