exactly where does this happen on Mt R?

On the Park Avenue side of the mountain near the large monument. Things start to get busy around 2 in the afternoon.

I love it and the feeling that exists around it, plus you always have some circus acts practicing...Jugglers....tight rope.....plus the added bonus is the midevil fighting matches that go on there as well.

Very hard to find parking in the area.

Bring some $ you can find some interesting things being sold by people, they

also bargain. The medieval fighting is fun to watch, they really get into it lol

Yes parking there during that time is a !@#$%^&* hassle

Here is their semi-official site. Almost went with a ladyfriend the other day, but change of plans.

Maybe some Sunday soon a bunch of us could go? Just a thought :D. I can get there in 30 minutes walking.

While I appreciate dancing "half naked hotties", those hippies with their drums are disturbing the peace. They also disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in my neighborhood at Parc Lafontaine (named after the hockey player?).

Couldn't agree more. The event has a certain novelty value if you're just visiting. However, speaking as a person who lived in that area for about 5 years, I've got to say that the incessant drumming gets pretty bloody annoying.

I'll make the prediction that, eventually, some local resident is going to snap, go cuckoo bananas with a rifle, leaving a lot of dead hippies to be swept up.

Did either of you guys who are complaining think about this BEFORE you moved there? This Tam Tam thing has been going on for decades.

I can only think of one strip that could be close enough to hear the drumming... The apts on the corner of Parc and Mont Royal. Or, possibly on Esplanade. But these are nice places facing a beautiful, historic park so I guess you trade some pros for some cons when you live somewhere like that. There are plenty of other places that have much more noise pollution all week long. A few years ago I lived beside a massive new condo construction project that made deafening noise from 7am to 7pm at least 6 days a week, if not all 7. I would have traded for a few hours of hippie drumming any day!

Nothing better than people watching and enjoying a sunny day with the Tam-Tams. It's a fun community environment with people coming from all walks of life. It would be a shame if it ever ended.
