    Hotel help

I have recently been assigned to a project that will require me to be in Montreal 2-3 nights each week until year-end. Unfortunately it is not always the same nights.

Previously I have stayed at the Marriott, QE, Omni, Holiday Inn, Delta and Intercontinental. All had positives and negatives.

However this time around I am trying to maximize my travel allowance and spending an average of $150-165 (before taxes) is not fiscally prudent. I can get better deals on hotel.ca or some of the other travel sites but it is a pain to make reservations every week.

Any one have suggestions for a place that is a little more affordable over the long run (I have no problem committing to 25-35 room nights over the next 4 months)? Has to be SP friendly and be near or have a restaurant and gym facilities or pool. Due to my office being downtown it has to be as close as possible to the downtown core.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mike

If I did my math correctly, you are talking about 100-150 room nights per year.

My advice... pick a reasonable hotel that is trading in the 75-100 range on PL.

Call the Sales Manager.. pose the scenario...

I'm sure that some blackout dates might apply, but you never know what you can end up with

Might take care of 75 % of your problem ?

    Best Regards

what about a cheap apartment, if there is such a thing in downtown Montreal, maybe a studio apartment, might be cheaper than 3 nights a week at $75-$100 each night, thats up to $1200 month, , where as a apartment, should be less and you would have the same place to stay every week.... just a thought

I was pokeing around CL looking at apartments from if they are right, rent in Montreal is very inexpensive.

Also with the apartment route you can keep a lot of your shit there which saves you having to lug stuff back and forth.
