Has N E 1 used the SP live chat before? Is it worth downloading the software?

B/c it takes up a lot of space as you also need to install Java 1.4.2 I believe & it takes a lot of room.

Thanks for your time.

Patience, allow that it may take a little while before someone reads your post

I realize that it can take some time, but I'm not sure how it is on this forum, but on other different forums my posts are usually answered within a couple of days after posting them if someone knows the answer or how I could get an answer for my question.

So I'm guessing you've never used it?

Ah! that one. It doesn't take too much memory/space and your browser should already be loaded with the right java engine. IE 6 should be ok.... you don't need to have the entire J2EE JDK installed. As far as the chat that goes on in there it is mostly Toronto people. Sometimes there are some Montreal folks. I haven't been on that for a while but it can be lots of fun when certain folks with an amazing sense of humor from Toronto get on it.

So not many MERB members or SP's on it from Montreal eh?

I have Windows XP with everything else but it still doesn't work.

Oh well.

Sorry johnny... there could be just about a million problems involved here. So us here, who have no clue of your hardware/software over there, can't really tell whats going on. But, given that you are a logical person, start with the obvious ones. For example: browser security settings, firewall settings, Win XP policies, java sandbox security settings..... and the list goes on and on and on....

Yeah I can see how you could have a problem judging.

Computer wise I have a fully upgraded pentium 4 processor with Windows XP.

I do have Nortan AntiVirus which acts as a firewall.

I've checked my internet options & everything seems to be good.

But I noticed that when I was installing & then removed the Java 1.4.2 b/c it was going to take up room, the real chat would've worked.

I did sign in with my username/password from here.

So I wasn't sure if I should keep all of it.

But I'm guessing that not too many ppl have used it here?
