I can't find the book for sale online. Does it say in the article where to buy it? My portuguese is still very limited.

what does this mean?

When I tried to order it, I got this message: "E-Mail informado não foi localizado em nosso cadastro." Does it mean if I am not in Brazil, then I can't order the book?

It means that you don't have an account with them. Open an account (it's free) and you will be registered. I never ordered books via Saraiva (I do it with Submarino) but I'm sure that they deliver in North America. Sometimes air fare are quite expensive.

In the registration form if you see the acronym CEP (Codigo de enderaçemento postal) don't worry, it's the Zip code. Sometimes you need a CEP in Brazil to order via Internet but it's not mandatory when you order it from abroad.

thanks

I am think I am almost there. Can you tell me what the following means? (I ran it through an online translator and I still can't figure it out.)

"O CPF fornecido não é valido ou foi digitado incorretamente."

The options are CPF, CNPJ, and Passaporte.

The CPF!!!!!

Boy, believe me that's the "pet hate" of everybody.

CPF means Cadastro de Pesoa Fisícas : it's a kind of citizenship card, a document you must show if you want do do any transaction in Brazil like open a bank account, have a cellular, drive a car, anything. Don't forget that not a long time ago Brazil was run by the army (UNTIL 1985 or 1986)...this is a remant of this inglorious era. At least we don't need a CPF to bang a garota!!!!!!

The message you received means that your CPF is not valid or that you didn't digit it properly. Naturally you couldn't digit it properly, you don't have one. Foreigners ordering things via the Internet don't need a CPF.

I've just check the Saraiva site and the overseas price is too expensive. The book costs R$29.90 and they ask R$84 to ship it in North America. The total will be: R$113,00 for a R$29.90 book....think it twice. Submarino fees are not that expensive.

I've search the Web for you and there's another place where you could have ordered the book:

http://raimundorui.blogspot.com/2009/08/livro-o-primeiro-sexo-um-sucesso.html

at

www.livropronto.com.br

Unfortunately, you still need a CEP. Wait a couple of week (the book is not even a month old) and try to order it with Submarino.

Interesting comment coming from someone who takes his MERB handle from one of the most famous termas in Rio.

I didn't pay attention to his remark because I know that some merbites read (and probably enjoy) my reports from Brazil.[I'll report from São Paulo and Santos in a couple of weeks].

I also find that calling me «Pele» is kind of flattering. It may means that I'm an expert in my art...scoring easily!:D

You're right VantOption «Centaurus» is the name of a famous Rio termas (with L'Uomo).

Really ?

Silly me ! And I thought that Centaurus was a bright constellation in the southern sky. One of the largest constellations in the sky as a matter of fact. Kinda fit my zinggy personality.

p.s.: Terma Centaus in Rio must be avoided at all costs. They charge 400 Reais upfront (i.e. before seeing the goods) while everybody else charge 250 Reais after you do the deed.
