If it rains, will the concert still be held?

I thought they might schedule the additional show on the previous day, Thursday, for that reason.

If Thursday or Friday got rained out, they would just play Saturday.
but now if Friday or Saturday, gets rained out, they will have to play Sunday.
and they are already scheduled to play New Jersey on Monday.
they say the gates open at 5pm,
so once they open the gates, the show will go on.
the weather forcast would have to be for serious nightime thunderstorms for them not to open the gates.
I am probably getting general admission tickets.
I would not want to sit in those temporary grandstand seats during a rock concert and maybe foul weather.

u2 travels around with 2 of those gigantic stages.
it takes 3 days to build it and 36 hours to dismantle it.

Hello Morris,

I was lucky enough to see U2 in Boston at the Fleet Center in early June of 2001, just three weeks before my first visit to Montreal. It was the greatest show I ever saw. Three shows were scheduled originally. However, you can imagine the added interest in an Irish band from in an area with 1.6 million Irish or more in the area...on top of their incredible general popularity. So two more shows were added. It would have been a sensational show anyway, but the first 300 arrivals were taken into the "heart" a sealed off circular area with the stage on one side and a bordering walkway all around the edge. I was only 10-12 feet from the stage when the concert began, only because I held back a bit so I wouldn't be crushed by the other 300 against the stage. No long after the start, banners were lowered all around the heart as Bono and U2 moved all around it's edge. At one point because of the setup the 300 and I were actually inside the light show which bounced off the banners from the inside. It was all a once in a lifetime experience.

The band played for about 2 1/2 hours. Of course Bono will make a little time to preach for some causes, but they played everything I hoped to hear, and I especially enjoyed a lot of music from the "War" album and the "Joshua Tree". They are one of the best live performance bands ever.

I Will Follow, :D

that is why they are playing 2 dates.

they will make the huge profit on the 2nd show.
the first show covers expenses.

most tickets cost less than 100 dollars,
remember this is an outdoor concert,
even the majority of $250 "good" tickets are not that close to the stage.

with 2 shows, tickets will always be cheap even through scalpers.
if you buy a $55 general admission ticket and get there at 3pm,
you have a good chance of being inside the circle of the stage,
where there is very little pushing and shoving.
the $30 seats are far away but you can sit and watch the video screens like a movie,
not bad and a lot cheaper than $250

presale tickets go onsale at noon today

I saw them about 3 years ago during their 'Vertigo' tour. They played at the ACC in Toronto for 4 nights. That's why it was easier to get a good ticket, as compared to Mtl where they only played for 1 night & were sold out immediately.

I didn't attend this summer's two concerts at the Rogers Center since it was an outdoor concert. I've never been a fan of outdoor venues or in ballparks. Too far from the stage & i wind up watching half of the concert on the giant screens. In that case, i figure i'd rather wait until the DVD comes out. But if the concerts would have been held in a smaller venue, such as the ACC, i definitely would have went to at least one of their concerts. Which is why i won't attend next summer's concert in Mtl. If they would have played at the Bell Center, i definitely would have went....but outdoors? Too many people, too far from the stage, etc.

I was in Mtl to attend a concert last week (Simon & Garfunkle) and the whole tour got cancelled because Art Garfunkle is supposedly suffering from laryngitis. And now this............it sucks!
