EDIT: Modified post and title to reflect the fact that the new format has only existed for one week, not two as was originally stated.

I"ll refrain from voting since it's an irrelevant poll. The new look of the board is here to stay & no matter how people feel about it won't change a thing.

No. It is not irrellavent.

Customer satisfaction is important .... even here.

Well,

What is your goal? If you are seeking some kind of leverage to return to the old board then this poll is totally irrelevant for the reasons Doc indicated. If you are interested in customer satisfaction it's just as irrelevant since there is a thread where I and many other can and have posted our complaints. That is where customer satisfaction is being achieved.

The fact is I now am divided between the old and new. The new board has some features I have wanted that were not previously available. The old had some others not present here. Since the new is here to stay any poll like this is useless. Airing specific grievances openly is how you get things done. Anyone who is really interested in "customer satisfaction" can contribute much more constructively than by making a poll. But a poll will tickle some.

As someone who has been generally critical of how the green board has been run altogether your poll is curious.

Cheers,

Merlot

Well, What is your goal?

Well Duh .... I want the old board back.

Mod 8 said that the last poll was biased becasue of the way the question was asked, and because it was done too soon after the new format was introduced.

He was right on both counts.

******

But a week has passed now, and the question as it is framed here is as unbiased as I could come up with.

So I thought it was worth a go.

To be honest, i don't think this board's owner (and the majority of this board's membership) gives a crap if people surf & post on the blue board, which many find totally irrelevant to the goin ons of the Montreal sex business. It's simply a gossip board. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hello Doc,

Actually, the most respected member on that board, Robin, characterized many of the membership as those with the character of a "men's locker room"...sadly.

There are many member who have no interest in having reviews or SPs here and want a men's locker room environment for unrestricted behavior. Some of these members don't usually see escorts so reviews and SP participation have no value for them. Some are escort hobbyists who are happy with one review board and want to use another handle and personality on a locker-room board. Boards that cater exclusively to this crowd (like 2legit's attempt) don't usually last too long. But can a board manage to satisfy both this group and reviewers? Can it still encourage SP participation and agency sponsorship? What would it take in terms of controls on individual behavior and board policies to be a bi-polar board?

Well Duh .... I want the old board back.

Then as I indicated...the poll is irrelevant.

cheerio,

Merlot

I like the new one but you should correct the problem with icons on several threads

Really, Robin said that? Do you know if that's his own terminology?

no. it is irrelevant.satisfaction of customers who do not pay for this service is not important.

i use this board for free, so common sense tells me my opinion is the least of fred zeds concerns. what gives me the right to have my opinion count? nothing, and that is completely fair.

when you start your own 'merb', benson, i'll come check it out. why don't i start my own? been there. i'm 104 now and too lazy to give a shit.

Unfortunate, but true.

Well...change is sometimes a good thing.
It has kinda grown on me.

Emoticons still SUCK (they all look the same)!
And I see we still don't have chat...but I am sure they are both being worked on...

Hello everyone,

Benson, you may wish all you want but the new software has been implented across all of Fred's boards and after all the work involved to do the change, I believe the new version is here to stay. You can post a new poll every week but it will not change anything.

Merlot, could you give me any examples of features that are missing from this new version when compared to the old? I myself have looked and have not been able to find anything that is missing. There are differences in the implementation of certain things, such as those with the search function, but I know of no missing features.

Jman47, I will do what I can to find out what is happening with the chat room and will let everyone know when I have news, if Fred does not make a post regarding it, and I will look into the issue of the emoticons.

Chat room, but I think that will probably be back after some maintenance?

Hello johnmbot,

We will be doing some pruning of the Suspended Members thread to remove many old posts that are no longer relevant. Once this is done you may find that you are able to cook your egg in under two minutes. That is a hot thread so once the thread is cleaned I would advise you to keep a good watch on your egg so that it does not burn. I would avoid using any thread in your egg as it may become stuck between your teeth and I would suggest a spatula to flip it instead of a poll which may not be as easy.

M8

hello m8,

when i used to view the 'suspensions' thread with the old version with my laptop all the way open screen laying flat pointing to the ceiling i use to be able to cook a perfect 2 minute sunny side up egg on the screen now it takes 2 minutes & 30 seconds what gives is there another specific thread or poll i should be using?

thanks in advance for your help!

The poll worked fine for me. Maybe you were trying to vote a second time? Once you vote the poll is replaced with a graph showing the results. By teh way, I voted for the new green except for the smilies. I think it works just as well as the old one once you get used to it, and I think the shade of green is closer to the original than the last version that was on the pale side.

You'd be surprised.
You may be a volunteer... but Fred Zed is a businessman.
And if more than half of my customers are dissatisfied with a change I made in my business, I'd listen to them.
Judging from dozens of small problems and headaches that users have had with this software, FZ almost surely had twice as many in administering and implementing the new changes.
But even Fred doesn't go back to the old version, he at least gets some feedback.
And if he does, well, then the time was not wasted.

The difference is that your dissatisfied customers are probably paying customers! Not the case here, so it doesn't apply.
