Suggestions for high speed internet in Quebec

Other than Videotron and Bell Sympatico what other options are there out there for high speed internet? Not needing a land line would be ideal.

    Thanks to all that reply

    2.5¢ from a power user...

I recommend Videotron if it is speed your after. No land line needed, and if you are interested in a home phone over cable line as well, it is very inexpensive.
I've personally not heard anything good (as in fast, stable) about any other service that is relative to the price.
    Peace.

You could try zid.com. They offer DSL through phoneline. No contract good speed. Low price. Unlimited download.

Unfortunately Videotron is out of the question and I dont have a phoneline right now.
Dont think it would be worth getting a phoneline just for the net.

I know of Acanac it offers naked dsl (no phone line) for $8 extra a month + the internet fee of $25.
Anyone have any experiences with them?

    Megaquebec internet
    Oricom

Les 2 sont sous-traitants pour Bell et Videotron. Un peu moins cher et un peu moins de service à la clientèle.

Any DSL provider, including Bell, will have a dry loop option if you don't want a land line and the price should be around the same, 8 to 10 bucks a month. All DSL providers lease their lines from Bell, so if Bell DSL service sucks in your neighbourhood so will any of the others. Most DSL providers will not have access to the higher speed connections and will only offer 5 Mbps service. The lack of choice is one of the biggest problems with Internet access here in Canada.

The best site for information on Internet service is www.dslreports.com They also have a forum for Canadian Internet discussions and the major Canadian ISPs have their own forums on the site where you can post your questions directly. http://www.dslreports.com/forums/23

You should find the answers to any question you might have there and you'll get much better information than you will here. It's also a great site for speed tests as they have links to just about every speed test server available.
