    Refusing SP Etiquette?

Let's say you open the door and you just know this is not going to work out. What is the proper thing to do if you don't want to go through with it? Are there rules or etiquette involved?

The 20$ is for the driver( after all he did drive her.. So his end has to be covered)
the old 140$/agencys was broken down like this:...
    80$/ girl
    20$/ driver
    40$ / agency
( I dated a girl that I met through an agency called 'top modeles'.. And she told me the rundown )
    but clavies excuse is great..
I'm sure that nowadays with all the costs of web time, and photographers that it's now the same with 80/agency, 80/ girl , 20/ driver

As a guy who has never refused, what is the rule of thumb?

Once the girl has made the "everything is ok" call can you no longer refuse?

Not even that long. I am talking within the first two minutes. Just when you know this is not gonna work out.

So, if the lady is any of the following:

    1) Not as descirbed
    2) Doesn't offer the services requested over the phone
    3) late, unclean, etc...etc..etc...

    You still give the $20?

Ok, if for some reason you engage a hotel room at Le Chablis (or any hotel for that matter), wait patiently through several hours of excuses from the agency only to be told she's gotten sick and can't cover her calls. Does the agency then cover your room at the Chablis (or whatever hotel)? This never happened to me, but I just want to understand the logic here.

As you can see there are various opinions. In the past most would say that if they sent you the lady you requested (no trick involved) then you pay for $20 drive/delivery and say goodbye. I do what seems decent to me and makes me feel good and right. I tell her it has nothing to do with her, she is attractive but not the type I had in mind, and I give her $20. Polite, truthful, minimum compensation. That suits me.

But, Clavie's story about an ex-wife or ex-girlfriend is a pretty good way out...lol.

This is a different situation. No SP has ever called to say "everything is ok" unless I said it was first. Once you see her and agree to have her stay you've made a commitment that was your own minimally knowledgeable decision. Don't agree if you aren't sure. If you do agree your responsibility is more binding in my view.

Overall, there is absolutely no reason to embarrass, be rude to, or mistreat any lady because she does not appeal to you. It's not her fault, or yours. She just went out on a call and this is just how it turned out.

    Cheers,

    Merlot

If you had not seen her pic on the web and you've heard just her decription from agency on phone, it seemed tie in to what you searched, but once in front of you, the girl don't look like anything you imagined. For the courtesy you give her 20$ and an apology as politeness. Its the logic here.

maybe you slam the door in front of her, but must understand that she feels very humiliated as any human being when someone have rejected you like that .

Maybe you could lie and say you must leave because your boss has just paged you, but you hope it will work out the next time you book her.

    Here's what NOT to do:

Look through the keyhole and then don't open it if she is unappealing. The SP in question took exception and carved a message demanding respect for her profession in the very fancy and expensive door of a downtown condo a couple of weeks ago to the bemusement of his neighbours.

Reminds me of a story from my past. Used to own a townhouse with a courtyard as the entrance and I'd been "seeing" (in the professional sense) this SP for over a year. Called her one evening inviting her over. She wasn't sure how fast she could get cleaned up from working out in the yard that day. I said no biggie, I'd stretch out on the carpet and watch re-runs of Star Trek till she got there. One of the last things I said to her was I'd leave the door unlocked in case I fell asleep. She could let herself in and wake me. Long story short, I was napping when she got there and I didn't answer the door. She wrote some choice words in red lipstick across my door and the courtyard. Took me two phone calls to calm her down and I reminded her of what I told her. Needless to say, we had a good laugh about it the next time I saw her and she made up for it in amazing CG style.

    About the $20 agency fee:

I do not pay the $20 driver's fee for one reason.

In the last decade and the previous decade and century, there were agencies which bait & switch, pick up girls on the street who were strung out and seemed to make a living out of collecting $20 from customers. I have received young women so hideous looking that I though that the only person who would accept them if they were as strung out as much as they were.

Most, if not all, of Merb advertisers have a no driver fee if you refuse. I have refused very few girls from the regularly known agencies. They are almost always as promoted.

I suppose if a girl was given $20 from one of the known agencies, she would probably keep the money herself? If I ever deal with a new agency that I have never dealt with, I always ask if they have a driver's fee if I refuse. Why? I don't want to be subjected to a rip-off agency just looking for a quick $20 while delivering a girl who is high and bleary-eyed, as I have had experienced in the past.

No, that's something entirely different. If the girl shows up and its just not going to work out I would still give the $20.
