UgE, you could get arrested for being found in a bawdy house. It have nothing to do with solicitation.

Soliciting for purposes of engaging in prostitution is liable to a maximum sentence of 6 months imprisonment. An absolute discharge is a possible sentence in case of a guilty verdict.
Judge generally prefer granting a discharge when the facts involved are of lesser gravity or concern a defendant without a record. An absolute discharge is the best sentence, the defendant benefiting from this measure, is deemed not having been convicted of the violation.
How would you describe the situation where : the facts involved are of lesser gravity or concern a defendant without a record ?

The internet is full of resources that talk about the Canadian laws.

Being in a bawdy house is a criminal offense. Legally, how do you think a criminal offense is treated?

It theory, you could be charged, have to go to court and end-up with a criminal record if found guilty. I don't think you could end-up in jail but you never know. If you get a criminal record and you're not Canadian, you can kiss goodbye your possibilities to come back to Canada. If you are Canadian and the US dig-out your Canadian record, you can kiss goodbye your right to visit the USA.

In practice, maybe you'll get nothing more than a fine, a good scare and you'll have to sign an engagement to stay away from this type of business.

One way or another, it will leave traces in your life and your name will stay in the system.

Sounds bold but that's reality. Nobody can say shit will happen every time but nobody can say it will never happen.

What do they consider a bawdy house?

An incall place that has many girls to choose from? Or is one sufficient?

I think from having read the Canadian law, I think solicitation is illegal in a public place.

And for the purposes of the law, it does not matter if they catch you in the act in the bawdy place. It is just that you are there when they do the raid and they have established already that it is a bawdy place. Everyone gets charged, no matter what you have been doing.

Correct me if I am wrong.
