Winter tires on yet?

Mine were put on myself on the 14th of november where it was a nice +7 degrees.

I agree Dec 1st is a more realistic date for mandatory winter tires.

I'm glad I don't have to abide by a deadline and can put them on when I feel the time is right. To drive several thousand KM's when there is not a snowflake in sight burns them up real quick. Got them on about two days before the first storm, and if I was late would just have to drive more carefully. These winter tires are no replacement for being careful and giving yourself extra time to get to your destination.

Most new cars come with 4 seasons. No choice to buy winter tires.

In summer, at 30+ temperature and hot asphalt, winter tires could come apart with high speed aggressive driving. Asphalt temperature can climb to very high under heavy sunshune. Combine this with the heat generated by the brake disks, the heat generated by tire friction on the road and the strain of the tire being pushed in all direction, that is a recipe for disaster. This is not just winter tire wearing faster, they can fail.
