Was just looking at an agency website and saw something that made me laugh for some reason. You know how the girls' bios often mention what kind of food they like? I am assuming that is in case you want to take them to dinner or get room service.

For most girls, it's like lobster or steak or scallops or seafood or something like that. Then I looked at one lady who listed pancakes. That cracked me up, the thought of having a romantic platter of pancakes sent to the room to impress her.

Not that there is anything wrong with loving pancakes....

That SP's worth talking to just from a non-Golddigger standpoint alone. Jezz, a glimpse of a real person....how refreshing!! Take her for Asian Crepes at Cho Praya.....LOL.....God, I miss that place

You have to read between the lines, you must know how women are !

If she says pancake, this implies you should expect your date will stay overnight and will order pancake in the morning. And your date will go from $200 to $1000 .

..........or maybe she actually loves pancakes. They are a mighty fine choice when coupled with quality Quebec maple syrup IMHO and I've had them later in the day.
Now, if she said "baked beans" then you should take that as a clue to stay away.

Pancakes vs. Crepes

Most of the French clientele restaurants in Montreal serve crepes in lieu of pancakes. You can get pancakes at Reubens, Eggspectation and L'Avenue (they are called "Crepe Americain" at L'Avenue). At most other breakfast places like Chez Cora they are not on the menu, and you will need to settle for crepes. Most of the places that do serve pancakes in Montreal serve it with a small thimble of maple syrup, the notable exception being Eggspectation which will give you a small bottle of maple syrup. Personally as far as quality I like Reubens' buttermilk pancakes best, but you have to demand extra syrup because they do not give you enough.

protagoras,

It's quite possible that as a local you like crepes more than pancakes because the restaurants in Montreal that serve pancakes are not doing them as well as in the USA. Reubens is reasonably close to a high quality buttermilk pancake but unless you go there, the chances are that the pancakes you have been served are substandard in quality as compared to their American counterparts. There are restaurants in Vermont that are small diner like establishments that are serving unbelievable pancakes. I have not seen that type of quality in Montreal, but let's realize that it is an American dish and just as you cannot get crepes in the USA like the ones served in Montreal, you are going to have to settle for inferior pancakes in Montreal as compared to what you can get almost anywhere in Vermont.

You're probably right. The only pancakes I know are those you can make yourself. Like, for example; Aunt Jemmima. Twenty years ago, I was teaching at UVM (Burlington). You're right they do have nice restaurants down there. But as far as I remember I didn't have a pancake. I'm just curious, next time I'll go to the States I'll try some pancakes.

What every guy wants: a girl who likes a mouthful of syrup:).

LMFAO, A, you are so right!:D

I wonder if we will ever get an IHOP in Quebec.

IMHO, IHOP is over priced and over rated. It'll do in a pinch. I have my own recipe from scratch. I won't eat most restaurant pancakes.:p

She might give you the next hour free. Damn sure worth a try. Get extra syrup, drizzle it on each other then...,you know. The possibilities are unlimited.

I suspect that most of these girls seldom pay for lobster, scallops, steak or seafood if they were paying out.

I took a SC girl to a Chinese restaurant, she ate like a pig. Since she was not paying, she ordered enough food for 4 people. To top it off she asked the waiter for a doggie bag. I made her eat a tube steak for dessert.
