    John Leslie R.I.P.

Former porn star John Leslie has died at the age of 65 after reportedly suffering a heart attack.

The actor and director passed away last Sunday at his home in Mill Valley, California, according to his pal Mark Kernes, editor of adult film magazine AVN.

Leslie, real name John Nuzzo, began his career in the pornography industry in the 1970s and starred in explicit films including Cry for Cindy and Talk Dirty to Me, which catapulted him to fame in 1980.

He became one of the first adult actors to make the transition into directing, according to Kernes, and landed numerous awards for his work, including an induction into the Legends of Erotica Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.

Leslie is survived by Kathleen, his wife of 23 years.

    Her Death:

She died in a traffic accident on New Year's Eve at the age of 53. At the time she was married and had a son.

She died in 2009 and not 1999.

It seems that there people in this profession die young, traffic accidents, sudden unexplained deaths, sudden rapid health problems. Their lives seem to be more tragic than the usual population.

    Just like professional wrestling?

You have to remember that those people lived very hard in their heyday & didn't take care of themselves. Drugs (lots of them), booze, non-stop partying, depression (often caused by their excessive lifestyle), etc. You take any segment of the population & you'd likely have the same results. Take a hockey players like John Kordic & Bryan Fogerty, who lived & partied hard...eventually, their hearts just gave out. Other former NHL players who were known to live & party hard looked like they were in their fifties while barely being over 30. Sure, some of it is genetics. But a lot of it is also on how you take care of yourself.

If you treat your body & your health like crap.....you'll pay the price later. A lot of times, it's sooner than later. As the ol' saying goes, "You are what you eat"...or...."You are how you live."

(I shouldn't talk, since many of the health problems i've have over the past few years can probably be attributed to my hard lifestyle & poor eating habits over the past decades.....i've only got myself to blame)

They pay a price for the fame and glory not knowing that not everyday will be a $10,000 pay day. Back in the early days of porn these big name porn stars were getting $200,000 a film. Now porn stars are a dime a dozen.

Come now......they might have made $200 000 'a year', but not 'per film'. But i will agree that they were being paid more than they are today, but that is simply because the supply has greatly outweighed the demand when it comes to 'talent'.

Guys in the biz used to complain that they were being paid peanuts as compared to the women. These days, all of them are being paid 'peanuts' for the most part, which is one of the reasons why we see so many former pornstars entering the escort business. There's more money to be made escorting than there is performing in front of the camera & as strippers. Times have changed.
