    Rip wop

Saw the announcement yesterday. Sorry to see Valerie and WOP ride off into the sunset.

Anyone have any idea what the typical life expectancy of an agency is? They seem to come and go, just like the girls ... and change names, just like the girls.

All of the significant agencies: Eleganza, Devilish, GOF, MSC, SD, XXXtase, and Asservissante have been around for years. A few others that have arrived in the past couple of years: Angels, Angels XXX, Chloe's and Candy Shop all appear to have good size rosters and staying power.

You'll see a new agency advertising 3-4 girls almost every month and in almost all cases, they're gone within six months to a year.

I found it funny that Valerie tried to sell the agency..? As if it were a drug run..!
I mean .. Sell what? A phone line? A website? A merb banner..? .. So that if all the girls decide not to work with you, your left with a phone, website, and merb banner..?lol
And before anything happened ? The lady's of wop started showing up elsewhere..

If you develop young talent, it's only a matter of time before they want to leave you to chase a bigger payday

I am sorry too for Valerie to see her gaency go like this, but it was predictable: not trying to be the smart alec here, simply that since the Holidays, she had been running at 1 girl per nite almost... Can't survive like this.
I have to say, Val was mostly trying out new girls, taking risks with newbees who many times had no experience in the domain... She found some nice gems who were rapidly recruited by larger agencies. I think it's all part of the game. Like a new small business often has its best products swallowed by the larger players who can afford to buy you out. Does not always seem fair...
I am sure we'll see more of Valerie somewhere soon, just give her time to bounce back... if it's not already done under the auspices of some other type of operation!!

I will say that I will not miss the title "SPECIAL" every night advertising the $160 rate - if it's the same price every night, it's not a special

Also advertising Greek included in the price when, for at least a few months now, she did not have any girls that did anal

I had seen several WOP ladies over the last few years. Each one was as expected and I enjoyed seeing each one. Val was easy to book with, providing the ladies were available. Thanks, Val, good luck. Sorry to see you go.

Most do not last 5 years. The new ones are old one remade.

Yes, for a number of reasons.

    1. The new agencies that I've seen seem to have 3-4 girls working 6-7 nights per week. I personally don't think a girl should work more than 3-4 and, in most cases, each will have to take the better part of a week off every month. So, if you have 3-4 girls on your website, they will either be working too much or only 1 or 2 will be working on a given day.

    2. In the case of 3-4 girls working 6-7 days a week, there are quite a few clients, myself included, who don't want to see a girl who is overworking. She will most likely be working without much desire and without enthusiasm. If you have only 1-2 working, you're not going to generate enough calls to make a living as an operator.

    3. Many clients, and I'm not including myself here, do not like to repeat with a girl. If your roster is limited to 3-4 girls, you will find it near impossible to develop a repeat business with most clients.

    4. Most failing agencies with small rosters have the same lineup they opened with months later. If you want to stay in business, you need to constantly recruit new talent. You can't do that if you have the same boring website with the same tiring lineup you opened with months earlier. The best way to recruit new talent is to have girls refer friends; if you don't have a lineup to start with, you don't have that avenue of new talent.

Of the agencies that have opened in the last year, only Chloe's/Candyshop seems to be making regular additions to their lineup. And I'll bet they're the only new agency to survive. There is work involved in running an agency and what I see from the others is laziness in the lack of recruiting and lazy websites. The agencies I mentioned above have, for the most part, been around a while, have set the bar pretty high for both service and offerings. A new agency that wants to compete will need to give the potential client a good reason to try them. That starts with a strong and deep lineup, regularly refreshed, and continues with good customer service.

You're claiming to be a group of affiliated independents. What I'm speaking about is an agency operation, where you have another party, the operator, looking to make a profit. An agency can't make money under the circumstances I described above. If you're truly indys, what I've said doesn't apply.

You should also know that there have been others who have come before you who have claimed to be affiliated independents. In every single case, it turned out that they were very thinly disguised agencies, so pardon not only my skepticism, but that of just about every other poster who has been here a while.

All an agency really has to sell is the namebrand, the client list (which every agency will tell you does not exist - yeah, right), and perhaps the services of their recruiter. An established agency may have a roster of girls to pass on too, but this is less tangible due to high turnover.

It would seem that the start-up costs for an escort agency would likely be relatively insignificant. Really, what's a name, a cell phone, a website, and a camera cost?

I'm sure you are. I understand she's starting a poutine and steamies chain and hoping you'll be her first customer.
