Boston Bruins prevented from sampling "the charms and distractions" of Montréal

Read the article in La Presse (en français)

The Canadiens-Bruins series will resume Monday night in Montréal. Because of a rock concert between the two games scheduled to be played here, there will be an extra day off. Play will resume Thursday.

The Bruins management is not taking any chances: the team will trek out to Lake Placid immediately following Monday night's games and only return on Thursday . I guess the bosses figure figure "placid" is preferable to "charming"...

I have been to Lake Placid. It's a nice area but there are no strip clubs or escort agencies there. Everything is mainly located on one main strip. There is a large rink there as I recall. The Bruins players can focus on hockey which they have not done a very good job doing the first two games in Boston. They have 1 goal in 2 games, and it came when Montreal was making a line change.

In the past there have been reports that the Canadiens players paid to send hookers to the Bruins players to distract them before games. This is not a new tactic. In his book, Giants Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor reports having spent thousands of dollars of his own money to send hookers on Saturday nights to the hotel rooms of the other team's star players. He sent them with orders to keep them up and distracted all night by any means possible. The Sunday games are played in the NFL at 1 pm so the players would be up past curfew when they should have been sleeping and getting rest for the big game.

I think Zdeno Chara is a player right now who looks to me like he needs to be laid. I would bet he would be target #1 to have Logan of Eleganza or some other SP show up at his door if the Bruins stayed at a hotel in Montreal. In fact, it leaks out what hotel the players are at (in the past they stayed at Le Centre Sheraton) and it would be very easy to target the players for visits from the ladies.

Claud Julien is very smart to prevent these tactics from being used on his players. He was once coach of the Habs so he knows these tricks, does he not?

BTW shouldn't this thread be posted in the Sports Forum?

Beg to differ... I think a Sarah Bernard would be way more appropriate for Z.

I was initially going to post there, but I did it in Lounge because the sub-topic has wider appeal than just hockey or sports. The Mods can move it if they deem appropriate.

Thank you for this: when I read the "La Presse" article, I was mainly thinking about the Bruins getting up to mischief on their own. I had not considered the adversary "killing their opponent with kindness".

Ah, but what a way to go .
