The Leafs didn't make the playoffs, Raptors weren't even close to the playoffs, and the Jays are below average.

At least Toronto's got the UFC's biggest event this weekend!

George St-Pierre is the best pound for pound and all around fighter in MMA. Jake Shields is a BJJ submission specialist and former Strikeforce champion and undefeated in his last 15 fights angainst inferior Strikeforce competition. His UFC debut was less than spectacular.

Don't believe the hype on Jake Shields, GSP will dominate in the stand up, clinch, and on the ground. I don't see this match being that close, like other so called big names that come out of Strikeforce or any other league and into the UFC everyone quicky realizes that they were never that good.

Hopefully GSP will be able to get some sort of KO or submission, something thats been lacking in his last couple of fights.

I will take GSP by submission in another yawner, GSP is definitely one of the best but he is also one of the most boring MMA fighters out there.

The weigh in looked intense for both George St-Pierre and Jake Shields. They both look in top shape physically and mentally. Hope they blow the roof off tonight and give a good showing. Also looking forward to Lyoto Machida and Randy Couture, hope Randy keeps it standing up so we can see some fireworks.

Probably watch it on replay, I'm not a fan of the man on man action the ground with the 69ing and all heehee, would be nice if it's a striking knockout for one but both are skilled in rustsling so we will see I guess. Bigest ufc event of all time thats pretty cool, they sold out the Rogers centre.

The last ufc with that jim jones or whatever, that skinny looking black dude, that was a good fight.

Looks like Toronto is now officially the Ufc's "Center of the Universe"........ maybe Montreal will hold a UFC event at Olympic Stadium and claim that honor in the future. I heard over 55,000 at Rogers Centre tonight, Olympic Stadium would get what, 60,000 + ?

Totally agree with you Seth on everything you wrote, he is the poster boy for today's UFC.
geroge st pierre has improved his strikeing game dramitically to the point 1 recent fight it was a record amount of punches landed.
Taking people to the ground he is number 1 as well-he is an all around athlete and fighter.I give gsp the nod in this match.
and to top it off he is a champion, a perfect gentleman, and good sport ,a credit to the sport.

Very uneventful event, nothing to make you jump out of your seats. Highlight was Lyoto Machida TKO over Randy Couture with a karate kick to the head!
