Lady or girl

I don't call a specific woman a "lady" unless she's a member of the peerage or the wife of a knight or baronet.

My preferred general term for an adult female human is "woman", particularly if she's near my age.

I tend to use "girl" out of the many possible euphemisms for "paid sexual companion". I'm really not sure why. I'm also not convinced it matters much.

My preferred general term for an adult female human is also "woman". However, I may use the term "girl" for younger women, for example those in their early 20s. I also use the term "lady" as a term of respect. My use of the terms "girl", "women" or "lady" does not depend on the person's chosen profession, whether "paid sexual companion" or something else. I do not believe an escort would be offended by the use of any of these terms.

Well put. Although the term "lady" as it applies to a term of respect seems fewer and farther between these days.
