    Parking downtown

I am from the states and do not speak or read french. Looking for some information on the meter parking in downtown. I received a ticket the other day while parked outside Cleo's. My questions are: Is there a time when you can start parking in a spot for free? Many cities in the states have free parking after 6:00pm and on weekends. Also, what does it say on the signs that are posted near some of the spots. I am thinking about keeping the ticket form and putting it under the windsheild wiper while parking for the next few weeks. Obviously I will have to pay the ticket before my grace period runs out.

    Hey Kenf,

If I am not mistaken there is a lot near the corner of St. Catherine and St. Laurent where you can park for the day for about $8. A buddy of mine who lives an hour from Montreal has driven in to the City and usually parks there. As I recall a couple of Arabic looking guys oversee that lot. If you are coming in just for the day it seems to me that is a better option than continually feeding the meter or getting ticketed.

Mondays through Wednesdays, the meter is off starting at 18h00. Thursdays through Saturdays, you have to pay until 21h00. Sundays should be free. If you're in the Ste-Cath-St-Laurent area, there should be a parking lot on the the street parallel to St Laurent, immediately west of it, between René-Lévesque and Prés.-Kennedy (or behind the Chinese restaurant corner St- laurent-R-Lév.).

    parking meters

I think the early end to meter enforcement on saturday is correct also. I think the enforcement is tied to the hours most of the stores are open... Saturday most downtown stores close at 6. Some nights they stay open later. Sundays are free.
Also, be careful of overnight parking. Most streets become "no parking" for an hour in the early morning so street sweepers can do their job, even if you are at a meter. The time varies depending on location. Some 7:00 am, some 8:00, etc. They are good at enforcing this. I think that's a $40 ticket, at least last time I made the mistake. So, read the signs, and try to figure out enough French to know the days of the week.

Shoot, I can't even count to three in French. Pretty pathetic huh? I have often wondered what would happen to me if my car broke down on one of those roads in the rural, French only townships I drive through to get to Montreal...........I would probably have a hard time getting help.

It was a hot Heather Graham scene. What a gorgeous pair of tits! The clip is from the movie "Killing me softly". I really wonder if that guy really entered her in the love scene because his dick has to be put in somewhere while he's pounding her. Sometimes I really wonder about that. The scene really looks real. Maybe it is? Maybe not...

    How about the garage option?

I'm happy to park in garages if I bring a car into the city and drive somwhere rather than walk take the metro. Is there a place to find out where some convenient downtown garages are located?
