    a problem

i know this guy he's in his early twenties and he's been with a number of escorts.
it's a bad thing, but i don't know how to talk him out of it. i asked him why does he do it and he said he has depression and has a hard time talking to women.
guys i need help to get this kid away from the scene

I don't see a problem. Let the kid do what he wants to do. I think you are the one with the problem by thinking this guy has a problem. If he has a problem talking to women, nothing could be easier than calling an escort.

I do not see a problem with it as long as he is not spending more money then he can afford to. Escorts might actually alleviate some of the depression he is experiencing. You said it... he has a hard time talking to women.

Well as long as he stays away from the skanks, I don't see a problem.

Hum...you are sure you choose the right place to state that " this is a bad thing"?
you might not be aware that your are writing on a site dedicated to escorting? And why pray tell someone I see is a member since 2008 ,is doing here if you think that seeing escort is a bad thing? Unless you are masochist? That's the only reason I can think...
The hobby is a problem if you cannot afford it and other area of your life suffer because of it... It is another subject , there is a very intersting thread about the concept of hobby thats you might look up ?

Your friend should go to gym and get involved to sports to build self confidence.

As suspected, "Miss" Channel Blue is actually everyone's favorite Elf. He is banned again and a complaint will be filed with his latest ISP. A big thank you to Merlot for helping in our plan to expose him. His posts will be removed in short enough time.

I agree...no problem unless it is negatively affecting other aspects of his life (financial, social, work, etc...).

At least when you are hobbying you have a chance of controlling what you spend to get a regular fuck. Wait till he gets married!

He isn't depressed. Actual depression kills your sex drive among other things. He might be frustrated, lonely and spectacularly inept with ladies but he isn't depressed, at least not yet. Past that I'm not sure what to tell you.

This is an oversimplification, and a potentially dangerous one at that. Plenty of people with intact libidos are depressed enough to kill themselves.

To meet diagnostic criteria for Major Depression, he only has to meet 5 of 9 inclusionary criteria and all the exclusionary criteria for the specified time period. It's entirely possible to meet full diagnostic criteria for severe Major Depression and still want to fuck.

Even assuming you are trained and competent to diagnose depression, you sure as hell aren't capable of doing it with someone you have not personally evaluated. Stated another way, anyone actually competent to make the statement you made would be too competent to make it.
