sorry for such a departure, but i recently met my friends girlfriend of 2 years. she came in as we were watching a game.
i recognised her from a mp,russian. he thinks she does shift work, but she did it all. should i tell him? should have seen her eyes when she saw me,panic, fear.

Depends on how good a friend he is.

Excellent Question. I would say No you don't tell him. Let's reverse roles. Say your wife our girl friend or oldest daughter brings home a friend from School, Zumba, day job, church choir...and she is an escort in the evening. You have frequented this escort and had some wonderful CIM sessions. Would you want her to blow your cover by telling your S.O. or daughter??

Professional courtesy – mums the word.

Put yourself in his position. What would you want or expect from him if the roles were reversed? If he's a good friend you should tell him. If he's more of an aquaintance, well I would probably keep quiet.

Damned if you do , damned if you don't !
I would tell him if he was my good buddy. I think it`s the right thing to do.

its a no win situation for you - your buddy will be resentful of you even if you are doing him a favour. Keep it to yourself.
there are too many tattle tales in the world.

On the otherhand, her insecurities may lead her to undermine and discredit you as a pre-emptive move.
"Your friend Hansansome is creepy - he was touching me under the table"
Might not want to give her an indication that you can't keep a secret or you will come out on the shitty end.

It is not your secret to tell...I do not know if you are married but if you are ,would you really be happy having someone tell your wife "by the way, I've seen your hubby as a mp, boy !You are a lucky girl ..."? If she wants to keep her lives separated it's her choice, makes for a more complicated life but still her choice...

It might be her choice but he should have the same choice...

If this is a really close friend, he deserves your honesty. Let him decide what to do with the info. If it ruins your friendship...there wasn't much there to begin with. It's not like you did this knowing she was his girlfriend.

Another way of looking at is to turn the tables...would you want him to tell you? Your answer is likely the path you should take.

If he is not a close friend...mind your own business and don't get involved.
