    Harry Morgan, Colonel Potter on ‘M*A*S*H,’ Dies at 96

    Harry Morgan, the prolific character actor best known for playing the acerbic but kindly Colonel Potter in the long-running television series “M*A*S*H,” died Wednesday morning at his home in Los Angeles. He was 96. His son Charles confirmed his death, saying Mr. Morgan had been treated for pneumonia recently.

    I agree. He had another good 20 years left.

    I actually liked Colonel Blake better. He was hilarious. Potter was an OK replacement. Too bad he's gone. I hope he didn't suffer.

    I heard he suffered a lot when he found out M*A*S*H was cancelled. But not as much as when he first heard Dragnet was yanked off the air. Sad, all that suffering.....
