It has come to my attention that certain posters have been posting negative reviews with the apparent intention of using the negative reviews to extract discounts or freebies from the negatively reviewed agencies. These "bargain hunters" may not be posting with the intention of sharing legitimate information with others, but rather with the intention of using those negative reviews to extract (or should I say extort) a discount from the agency.

I have some thoughts on this. First, I have written a number of reviews on this Board, and never have I used a review, positive or negative, to attempt to extract any form of monetary compensation from any agency in Montreal. There are agencies who have undoubtedly benefitted tremendously from my reviews, but never have I asked ANY agency for a monetary discount as a result nor would I even consider doing so.

I have had escorts show up late for dates. I haven't asked for a monetary discount. What I have asked for is time - because the escort was late, I have asked that she spend more time with me.

Second, I think that agency owners should give the equivalent of a golf mulligan on this practice. You get away with it only once. The second time, if I were an agency owner, the client is cut off and reported to the Mods.

I understand that the primary purpose of this Board is to assist the hobbyist in finding good deals. But it's part of the hobby that not every experience will go as planned, and when that happens be a man, bite the bullet, absorb the loss and hope for better luck next time. The posters who hunt for bargains by threatening to post and/or posting negative reviews to "leverage" a freebie or a discount are whiners, babies, losers, and in some cases terrorists, who do not belong on this Board. I urge the Mods to be vigilant in patrolling the Boards for shills and for these "bargain hunters" who are in many ways worse than shills because they are acting for their own self interest and they don't give a shit about the agency and more importantly they don't give a shit about you, the reader, and the sanctity and credibility of the information reported on this Board.

You are understanding it the wrong way. I think what EB means is this...

1) You call an agency and see someone at a regular price.
2) You post a bad review as a brand new poster.
3) The agency owner comes forth and offer you a discount to make up for your "bad time" with his girl...
4) You see another girl from the agency, and you laugh in your beard because you had a discount or freebee!

regna D,

There is no problem with the situation your describe. The problem is where the negative review is posted with the INTENTION of extracting or extorting a discount or a freebie with another girl at the same agency.

In other words are you saying a regular poster goes to an internet cafe and registers another handle (or more) then see's the girl, posts a negative review and takes the discount?

I'm sure it happens, although I have no clue how often. I must be doing something wrong, I've never asked for (or even hinted at) a discount, I've never been offered a discount, and I've never received a discount, in Montreal or anywhere else. :)

In fact, I don't recall ever having a follow-up conversation with an agency or an escort about bad service. I just chalk it up to bad luck, make a mental note about that agency or escort, and move on.

As for people using the threat of bad reviews to extort discounts, it's just that, extortion. From what you're saying, EB, I guess it works sometimes, or at least some people are hoping that it works sometimes. It's an unfortunate fact that a single bad review can sometimes have a lasting effect on an escort's reputation. As they say, first impressions can last a long time.

However, it's awfully difficult for anyone to know whether this sort of extortion is what's behind a bad review or not. You wind up in a "he said, she said" situation, and trying to evaluate the credibility of conflicting stories is incredibly hard, even in person. On a messageboard, when there's no evidence besides what the people themselves are writing, it's often damn near impossible.

All you can do, I suppose, is trust the people who have an established posting history and have built some credibility, whether they are agency owners or customers, and take all other posts (whether positive or negative) with a healthy grain of salt, unless supported by the weight of other posts saying the same sort of thing.

I agree with Train and Big Hugo that you cannot distinguish between the legit negative reviews and the "bargain hunter" negative reviews. My point is, however, that the latter should not be tolerated more than once and if there is proper communication between the agency owners and the Mods, it will not happen more than once with any one individual. And by posting as I have I am putting these individuals on notice that this practice is not going to be tolerated and the word will get out as to who they are, and they may end up being cut off by the wise and prudent agency owner.

I am still new to this board. posted a few here and there but I agree that posting a negative review to get discount is not good
I did posted a negative review once but even that my negativity was valid one (backed by others in their reply).
Will I post a negative review to get discount ? NO. If I post a negative review then it is because I ended up taking it for the team and let others know. And anyone out there read this then he/she should have the same way to post.

I have done something like this except that I'm not a new poster and didn't laugh in my imaginary beard. I wrote about a disappointing session with an escort from Platinum, and Peter immediately offered a free hour. The resulting 2-hour session for 1-hour price with Cloe Montreal was so good that I added a big tip. My review acknowledged the discount. I don't see anything wrong with this scenario but I can understand that some customers could abuse an agency owner's policy of making amends. Perhaps the test for a crooked customer is to ask "Did he suppress details of the discount in his review?"

OK, then just make the general point without quoting a 4 year old post by someone who is no longer actively reviewing Montreal SPs.

The topic is a legitimate one but the thread I started is now a stale discussion started about reviews on an agency, DC, which no longer exists. Those reviews happened 4 years ago. Start a new thread and let this one die the death it enjoyed for nearly 4 years.
