    Viable project? Agencies daily schedule

I hope someone can build a webpage that contains the schedule for all the agencies who update in the advertiser section. Filtering with age, price, hours, agency, measurement, incall/outcall is desirable. I do not know how elaborate this project can be. I think this can process can be automated with the data-mining program. Just one-stop shopping. Like to hear others ideas and views.

You might want to learn from other MERB members who have experience with maintaining such escort spreadsheets - for example, Robin, Wookie, and John Mbot. Here is a search list of some Merb threads discussing such spreadsheets:

I am not thinking of a spreadsheet. Spreadsheet is outdated and manual. I believe some data mining program will read the thread from the advertising agencies and update the webpage daily. The highlight of this webpage is the filtering feature, using a drop down filter, you can select among various attributes, age, price, hours, agency, measurement, incall/outcall and etc. Just an idea do not know time and cost involved

This is what I am thinking (http://www.tech-faq.com/internet-bots.html)

An Internet Bot is a software application that does repetitive and automated tasks in the Internet that would otherwise take humans a long time to do. The most common Internet bots are the spider bots which are used for web server analyses and file data gathering.

Bots are also used to provide the required higher response rate for some online services like online auctions and online gaming.

Web interface programs like instant messaging and Internet chat relay applications can also be used by Internet bots to provide automated responses to customers. These Internet bots can be used to give weather updates, currency exchange rates, sports results, telephone numbers, etc.

That would be a major undertaking. For that to work, all the agencies would have to use the same format in their advertising so that a bot would know what data to retrieve. I just took a look at some of the agency ads and there's no real consistency between agencies. Not all ads contain the data that would be needed like measurements and ages, probably because you can get that from the agency site. Check the Devilish ad, all they have are names and pics, no prices, measurements or any other info. Angel has names, prices, pics and services. I looked at other ads and they're all different. Everyone has their own way of doing their ads. Even if the data you need was in each ad, there's no way to tell a bot what data it should pick up because the format of each ad is unique. It would be possible if a standard form was used for all ads by all the agencies but I don't think that's gonna happen any time soon. When it comes to advertising of any kind, everyone wants to do something that's going to catch your eye and make you take notice and that kind of ad is not exactly friendly for data mining.

If you are looking to set up a John bot, I still maintain that it might be useful to get in touch with someone, such as John Mbot who has experience with escort lists. You may be able to collaborate on the project by leveraging your combined skills.

Thanks Techman & jnutz for your input. I am believe there is no commercial value in such project, just another tool for the Merbrites.

I do not expect anything concrete but interests in this discussion. To your point Techman, the agencies are already submitting their daily schedule can they just upload the data to a standard form. If we present a prototype with data from 2 agencies or more, it may raise others interest. jnutz try testing your bot with the agencies like GOF and Devilish and review the result. I think they have common data fields.

Thanks. jnutz. This will be very interesting, and "jnutzing" is the goggling for hobbyists. I think I will call the software "johnbot" like "shopbot".

Take your time and you will encounter the incompatible data problem. The concept is not new but no one have bring it up. This request is not for my personal benefits. I am trying to bring the hobbying to a new level.

The drill down or filtering of the data will be amazing. This application will identify the particulars you desire. Your search will be more effective. Like I am looking for SP under 5ft 4, under 130 lbs, you have to good through various ads to find one, if you are lucky.
