I was saddened when i heard the news yesterday, however, he is expected to make a complete recovery.

Neil was due to receive an honorary award at tonight's Junos, which are to be held in his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

I'll still be looking forward to seeing my favorite pop cutie, Avril Lavigne, though. Not only is she awfully cute, but she can sing, play her own musical instruments, and write great songs. The likes of Brittney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Hillary Duff can't hold a candle to her. Neither does that wannabe who can't sing a lick, Ashely Simpson....she's absolutely terrible!

Apparently KL paid a poignant homage to NY. According to news reports, NY will not be left with any disability .

My favorite moment was at the end of the program, when Randy Bachman, formerly of The Guess Who & Bachman, Turner, Overdrive (BTO) sang his huge hit "Taking Care of Business" with other musicians. This Canadian rock legend has never took a drop of alcohol, nor any type of drugs (incl. cigarettes) in his entire life. A rarity, i must say.

I missed the KD Lang performance, which possibly occurred while i was busy watching 'The Contender'.

I found this year's show fairly dull as compared to previous years, possibly because the big stars such as Shania Twain & Avril Lavigne weren't able to attend. I suppose that the biggest disappointment was the absence of Neil Young, who was expected to perform and also receive a tribute.

Speaking of legends, i happened to see Canadian folk great Gordon Lightfoot at the Toronto Raptors game yesterday. In ill-health for several years, he looked very well when i saw him at the game.

I've heard Neil Young's father passed away recently. I was surprised to hear that his father was an accomplished journalist and author. He had written some 45 books. Now i can see where Neil got some of his great talents from.

I read several of his books on NHL hockey when i grew up. There is one other book that i've yet to read that caught my interest called "Neil and Me", which deals with his relationship with his famous son.
