Americans are in a panic! Hostess has closed down due to labour problems or something and now everyone south of the border is going nuts trying to corner the market on TWINKIES!
There are a bunch of auctions on ebay right now for these things and they're reaching insane prices. This one here http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hostess-Twi...pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f1f2063f5 for example is for 5 boxes of 10 cakes and the bidding is up to $2025.00 US!!!!!

No, that's not a typo, you read it right...over TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS for Twinkies!!! This is insane!!!

Maybe Mitt likes Twinkies? Then again, judging from his physique, maybe it's Brian Burke who likes them?

Not sure I know what a Twinkie is but I do know of May West and Joe Louis which go down good with a bottle of Pepsi.

"Twinkies" and many of the other Hostess brands are valuable properties. I'm pretty sure someone would snap the rights to the brand names up fairly quickly and restart production in a nonunion plant with cheaper labor costs. Personally I think they taste like sugar-coated styrofoam, but that's just me.

Really???

Puuullleeeeeese, I haven't touched these things since I was a kid. When I see them if I think about them at all it's usually...how do people even consider eating that crap. Ummmmm, let's have some yellow dye chemical number 5. Yeah right. I can't remember having any Hostess product in 20 years. I feel sorry for those who have lost their jobs and all that went with it, though they stupidly pushed a bad position, but if anyone is panicking over the demise of this product it explains why so many of them are in poor physical condition.

It's been too long to remember accurately but that sounds very familiar.

ish,

Some chinese company will snatch up the Hostess brand and start making everything in China at a fraction of the price to ship to the US.

Heck they make candy there and ship here to north america, why not twinkies...

You can contact Saputo, they control the twinkie racket in canada.

......and much, much more. The Saputo story is that the guy came to Canada in the mid 50s with no money. He went to see a cheese maker and asked him if he could use his factory at night to make cheese. ( that is what you need a competitor and one that uses your facilities ) Now it is a multi national dairy business.
