Hey guys I need your advice. I have never been to an NHL game in Montreal and wondering what I can expect to pay for tickets. Are there scalpers that are reasonable and have a bit of mercy? Just wondering if $100 will get me a decent seat. What do you think?

if you are going to see the habs play the panthers or blue jackets, then you will get a decent seat for that price, if your going to see the Leafs, pens, sens, sabres or any other rival or top tier teams then $100 will get you nosebleed and it will take $150 to get a ok seat and $200 plus for good seats. Some fans will be bitter in other cities and not fill the arenas, but not in Canada, esp in Montreal. Beav, i have a cpl contacts (scalper friends) that can get you ticks, if you want the name and # just drop me a pm.

OK Iggy I may do that. One thing that worries me is if I deal with the French scalpers they will know I am an American tourist immediately and try and play me for the fool. Are most of the scalpers bilingual? I suppose even if so they will know from my New England accent that I am not an Anglo Canadian. But I am not sure if that face will give me a better footing in the negotiations that the Anglo Canadian purchaser.

I just want to pay fair value and not be taken advantage of. $200 is just the price of seeing another SP so I will pay it if I have to.

Btw Beav, there is no better place to see a nhl game than in the Mecca known as Mount-Royal. I may be a Leafs fan but Montreal is by far the best place i have ever seen a sporting event of any kind, i have been all over to sporting events, Yankee stadium, fenway, cowboys stadium, nba arenas, oklahoma sooners game in Norman Ok, and a game at the bell centre beats them all as far as atmosphere first and overall experience close 2nd IMHO. Treat yourself to a Leafs/Habs game there and you will see what i mean.

$200 for a non "premium" game will get you first 7 rows from the ice most games, but premium games like explained above will get you higher rows in the lower bowl, say rows 12-20 usually but maybe not centre ice, 250 will however.... lots of $ for 3 hours but it is something everyone should experience once at least.

Btw, rows 1-6 (unless your on the ends) suck as you cant see whats going on in the corners on your side, rows 7-15 are perfect along the sides. I have sat front row behind the benches and would rather sit a little higher

I was actually hoping for Canadiens-Rangers, but I will settle for Canadiens-Bruins. I have been in Montreal during Canadiens-Bruins games in the past and they seem to pull in a lot of Boston fans and that could mean a harder, more expensive ticket due to increased demand from Bostonians. I don't know how many fans go to Montreal from Toronto. I think Boston is a shorter drive to Montreal that it is from Toronto.

Boston and Toronto would be premium games and the highest prices for sure and very intense games to say the least. The Rangers would be pretty costly as well as they now have a good team, really any original 6 is gonna be top tier pricing. When the Leafs are in town, the arena always seems half full of Leafs fans but is probably more like 35-40% Leafs fans.

Note, Beav, that the Leafs fit into the "rival" category, not the "top tier."

Hello everyone,

Now that it seems that hockey will once again be a topic of discussion here on MERB, I would like to remind everyone that this is an OFFICIAL sports thread and as such there will be a zero tolerance for off topic content and flame posts. Keep things on topic, no insults and no flames. Suspensions will be handed out for any violations and they will be doubled for repeat offenses.

Good luck to everyone's favorite team.

For me this year is = F*ck em' !
I'll stick to NFL only.

For the amount I was paying each year on season tickets for Rouge A or Prestige (plus parking, booze, etc..) for my corp., I already saw all the SPs I wanted to f*ck in Montreal and I got a big bulge in my pocket too for the next Grand-prix season...

I already know anyway how it's gonna end and which team won't make the playoffs :eyebrows:

Please don't call this guy SCOTTY !

For a true Habs and Hockey Fan there's only one SCOTTY and it's the best Hockey coach ever !
Compare to SCOTTY douchebag Cherry is a walking farce.

Anyway ! wish you the very best with your Leafs Iggy !
The way things are going in American politics nowadays...I don't need the Leafs to get a good laugh !

I'm definitely torn about how I feel about this upcoming shortened season. Can you really be that proud of your team for winning a half season? I should hope there's an asterisk next to this years Stanley Cup Champion.

Look behind you.
As for myself and many other people I know we will not be going to any games this year, fuck the billionaires and millionaires. Hopefully the teams that were about to fold actually do and we lose 5 to 7 teams and then all the hack players lose their jobs and we can watch good hockey again with good talent. To me it would be great to see empty arenas. Spoiled bastards.
