BEST METHOD TO SECURE HABS TICKETS (and if possible cheaply).

Hello all, what is the best way to secure Habs tickets. (and if possible the cheapest).

    - Go a few days before your preferred game to the bell center and buy tickets.
    - ticket master directickets.com? (are they reputable).
    - scalper after first period?
    -craigslist?

How much to red seats cost in the regular season?

Scalpers will sell on the cheap when the puck is dropped, if any tickets left. That's a chance to take.

Forget about going to the Bell Center to buy tickets, most of games are sold out. You may be luckier if you're looking for a single ticket, but for a pair or more sitting together, it sounds impossible to me. And i think they only sell online.

Otherwise, take a look on Ebay, Kijiji, or maybe Craiglist but be prepared to pay the price (unless you're really lucky and find a good soul selling them at face value).

    try StubHub.

Edited: No commercial links allowed. If they want to advertise on MERB, they can pay to do so. Thanks. Mod 11.

The best way is to do business with the same scalper. However, nothing is certain when you don't purchase your tickets directly from the box office. Recently, i attended a couple of NBA basketball games & on at least four occasions, people in my section had the same tickets as others. The ushers would check all tickets, then ask the new arrivees to come with them to an office. Once there, another person did some testing & confirmed that they were counterfeits. These counterfeit tickets had been purchased on the street from scalpers and also via internet. One of the ushers told me that he'd also seen the same thing happen at hockey games.

The bottom line is that you take a chance anytime you buy a ticket from a scalper or online. The rule of thumb that i use is that if a deal looks too good to be true, then it probably is.

Someone told me The Bell Center retain some tickets (probably not the best ones wich are indeed sold out)to sell them 24 hours before the match. So in theory it might be possible to get some at the real price. It is worth to call to get the real answer. Otherwise, TheBob is absolutely right.

True. But the goddamn scalpers probably will go out of their way to scoop 'em up!

But as i've said in the past, there are some very decent deals to be had prior to any game if you take the time to check out some of the online classified ads. And yes, there is always a risk involved. However, if you deal with the seller in person, the chances of getting scammed may not be as high.

Tickets were surprisingly available online through the ticket office for the home opener.

Try your luck online ticket office first.
