Poor staff who will have to evaluate her case. And of course, the journalists can justify only for today why they are watching a hardcore movie. TVA cut out the picture, others not:

The only weird thing in this (for me) is that apparently the film title is 'Abuseurs en serie'.
Now maybe se didn't know the title would be ? We all know porn movie titles are usually stupids but for anyone involved with a school ?

I don't know but it sounds creepy to me !

Other than that... who didn't hear about a striper or SP who apparently 'works' to go to the university ? ;)
And who never had any fantasy for a 'hot and sexy teacher' ? (and this one wasn't even a teacher)...

anyhow... maybe you can merge this with all the other thread about Quebec vs. sex ? :)

There was a similar case involving a teacher who got outed and who lost her job twice: Rikki Andersin

The Quebec filmmaker who owns her rights had to restrict his site to members only, further to excessive traffic causing the site to crash.

This will surely mean a big payday for Ardente. She's probably going to get a nice settlement offer from the school where she was employed, coupled with several offers for more porn films and she'll probably land as an escort on this site.

Meantime, the producer of her film set up a facebook page for her, using some still shots from her video: source.

Moral of the story: teachers and school staff are grossly underpaid by the porn industry. :p

Rikki Andersin was a porn star in the 90's, and a high school student recognized her in 2011? ... in Paducah, KY no less. Now that's what I call really doing your homework :)

She's just another brainless bimbo with implants. Nothing special about her. What the hell did she expect to happen? Did she expect to get a promotion instead of fired? She works in a school in a position of authority over minor children. She deserved to get her ass fired and doesn't deserve one cent in compensation.

She was not in a position of authority over minors. She worked in the administration and had no link to the kids.

Direct authority, no. But as part of the school's staff, she sure as hell was not one of their peers. I don't care if she was a secretary or a janitor. If she works in a school and has direct contact with minors, she either does her job or works in porn but not both.

In the Mongrain interview she stated her decision to participate in x-rated films was not well thought out and did not consider the consequences

As for compensation, the Employment Standards Act states even though an employee is fired for just cause, they are still entitled to both termination pay and severance!

http://www.moneyville.ca/blog/post/974001--employee-fired-for-cause-still-gets-25-000

Wasn't well thought out? NO SHIT! The understatement of the year! Yes, she's still entitled to her severence pay if fired without notice and whatever vacation pay is owed her. But she is not entitled to any money from wrongful termination because if there was ever a termination with just cause, this is it. Or does she have to start banging students two at a time on her desk? IF teh kid did in fact try to blackmail her, then take that matter up with the cops and file charges or try to sue in civil court. But she can't hold the school responsible for kicking her ass out into the street. Besides, she can't claim that she has no means of support can she? She probably makes at least a couple of hundred bucks per film and can probably demand a raise because of the press she'll get from this. Can't see her making much more than that because she is hardly a porn 'star', just another throwaway porn tart like hundreds of others on the net. Give it a couple of months and no one will remember her name anyways.

Authority

Anyone employed within a school by a school board has authority over the students. From trivial matters like issuing late slips when the school bus does not arrive on time, to reporting witnessed acts of vandalism, misbehavior or violence and so forth.

Am I the only one to smell hypocrisy in the high moral tone of many of the posts in this thread? It's easy to dismiss her by saying "she should have known better", but that's only because acting in porno films is so obviously over the line of middle class respectability. Those of us who use women casually for sexual gratification might be a little less judgmental. After all, no one is suggesting that she mixed her porno work with her school work. She used a different name, and would not have been discovered except for a precocious student who thought he recognised her. She did not try to corrupt anyone (student or staff) in the building.

Surely, this is a "where do you draw the line?" situation. At what point does someone's private life compromise their regular work? Suppose she got a ride home on a Harley with her biker boyfriend. Is this a bad enough example of moral degradation for her to be fired? Some would think so.

I draw the line at anything that does have or can have a direct effect on children. I feel the same way about massage parlours that are stupid enough to open up near a school or park where children hang out. You want to work in porn, who cares. Do it and don't work with kids at the same time. Do both and get your ass fired from the job involving kids.

Even if it is true that schools usually have regulations saying that the kids have to obey all adults working in the school, we all know that in a 1500 students secondary school like the one she was working at, such authority is theoretical for clerks like her who don’t work in contact with the kids. Also, when you talk about reporting acts of vandalism, this is not exercising authority, it is complying with her obligations as an employee and, as a matter of fact, as a citizen.

In this specific case, the school board spokesmen have never based their argument on the position of authority of their employee over the kids. They stated that her actions outside the school were contrary to the values of the school and the school board.

Tech, I know a very nice and articulate single young mother of two kids working both as a mp and janitor (“éducatrice”) in an elementary school “service garde” where the pay is not very good. You get to learn about her activity someday. Would you automatically denounce her?

Gugu,

You do not have the authority or mandate to speak for the collective "we", rather you represent yourself.

Your contribution above overlooks the rather obvious fact that the situation arose simply because the student had contact with her. She was known to the student population and easily identifiable. She was not segregated from the student population. So the authority is not theoretical but part of reality.

I also fail to see how you can separate values and authority as you try to do.
Authority does not exist in a vacuum, rather it is supported with values.

Even though I nowhere pretend to talk for the collectively, having been president of a « conseil d’établissement » for many years, I think I can speak with a minimum of authority on that matter.

Your contribution above overlooks the rather obvious fact that the situation arose simply because the student had contact with her. She was known to the student population and easily identifiable. She was not segregated from the student population. So the authority is not theoretical but part of reality.

Being recognizable by a student does not mean you are in a position of authority over him. Furthermore, the situation did not at all arise from the fact that the student had contact with her. The result would have been exactly the same without such contact. The situation arose from the fact that her outside activity was made public, both within the school student group and the media.

I also fail to see how you can separate values and authority as you try to do.
Authority does not exist in a vacuum, rather it is supported with values.

Authority does not exist without the set of values that legitimize it, but you may very well understand values without authority. Authority is involved is that case through the decision of the school board, not any authority the clerk may have had over the kids. The school board decided that the values present in porn are not compatible with the values schools should promote. I agree with them. Now is that worth a suspension? The school board answered no to that question. Again, I agree with them. They have offered some conditions to keep her. She refused some of those conditions. Maybe she pushed her luck.
