After a decade of being a local customer, I expected better of XXXtase

As you may or may not know, XXXtase just resigned their website this month and removed their hosted forum. On the old site, the XXXtase hosted forum was “probably” introduced around a year ago. While it remained a link up until a few weeks ago, the forum was taken down around January 1st, 2011.

If we go back into late 2010, they hosted a review contest called "20 oct - 31 november 2010 .. Contest and price” where the winner would receive 3 hours (very generous) from SP's of his choosing. I believe 2 hours plus Chablis room and 2 Canadians tickets were also options.

Well I happened to be a customer in their time-frame so I posted a review to their forum and by the conclusion of the content, only myself and 2 other posters had uploaded reviews within the designated time frame. Based on the limited participation and my self-confidence in my writing ability, I thought I had a decent shot at it.

Well a month had concluded after the posted conclusion of the content with multiple “any winner declared?” posts in that thread (not by me actually....the other reviewers).

Well around the New Year, I private messaged them and got a “let me look into it” response.

With no response by 2/1, I sent another note and got a “busy with website redesign, new forum, etc. but we will definitely declare a winner soon”.

Another month went by and I got a similar response to my March PM.

Both my April and May PM's were read (read receipts) but not responded to.

So it's been about seven months since the contest started and I have accepted my fate. It is just a shame that a number I have dialed so many times before will go to the back of my Rolodex as a result of this.

Just wanted to share my experience....

Oui,

I'm not saying that "I' should get my prize but I think the drawing should be held. But the xxxtase message board has been retired and the last two PM's I sent to Martin on MERB were read (I put read receipt on) and never replied to, so it's not a mailbox issue.

Such is life...

I hear your deception. I must say though that when spoken to directly, Martin has always been cool and woudl live up to his previous engagements. He had at some point advertised a special discounted rate for his VIP members... and he would honor it even a year later and more when I would call up and ask about that. He had never mentionned the discount was over, so... :) Give it a try!!

Good luck Rusty!

I agree with the prior posters........call Martin. Most of the agencies, including XXXtase, are not good about communicating by PM. Saying you got a read receipt means diddly squat. I have sent them PMs in the past, they were read and I got nothing accomplished until I called. We now live in an era where people no longer like to communicate by telephone, instead they believe in instant electronic comunication. It is just WRONG. Robots can communicate electronically, people should talk. Perhaps you are a robot, but I am a human being and prefer to maintain my humanity.

I spoke to Martin recently by telephone (I think it was either last Saturday or the prior Saturday). Just call him and forget about the PMs. I too have been a customer for many years and the fact that you are a local as opposed to a regular from out of town should not grant you any extra favor. I think Martin is a straight shooter with all customers, including me.

Rusty, I would be interested to know how many people actually get their free hours in these review contests. I supposedly won a free hour from Devilish for posting a review on their member site last summer, and my attempt to redeem the prize last winter was unsuccessful. The booker had told me that he would have to get authorization from the boss, and he told me that the boss had been unreachable all day. Needless to say, the booker never called me back with an answer as to whether I would be getting my prize, and the girl I saw collected the full amount from me. Fortunately, the girl was a prize in her own right, albeit not a free one. As a consequence of not getting my prize, I am now less inclined to leave reviews, so I feel your frustration.

If an agency decides to run these contests, the booker should have access to an IOU database. One probably has to haggle and pester to his free hour, and unfortunately, that's just not my style. I may pay for sex, but I do have my pride.
