Do these campaigns actually work?

Is a car driver actually going to say, "Wow! I've never taken the Metro. This is so nice! I'm going to stop using my car!"?

He may however realise that there's a bus route going where he wants to go, or that he could save thousands by not buying a second car. Public transportation is not meant to be "nice", just useful. Getting stuck in traffic on Decarie, this is sooo nice.

True say. Just to have a car cost hundreds of dollars just to get from point A to point B. However the service in Montreal sucks when compared to the service in Toronto. The buses do not come often enough and the metro does not come often enough especially at night time. Also the metro closes too early. I think increasing service would encourage more people to drop their cars for public transportation.

I'm not ashamed to say I will jump on the bus rather than take my car sometimes even if the parking isn't an issue. You'd be amazed how many hotties ride the bus. I once rode with my M.D. on the bus. I've taken my bike and gone to another end of the city using public tranport and it is very practical. We should all give it a try even if free isn't going to entice us.

Je pense que ce qui décourage la plupart des gens, c'est les interruptions de service dans le métro causées souvent par des imbéciles qui bloquent les portes ou actionne le frein d'urgence pour s'amuser ou s'aventurent dans le tunnel , les pannes de bus, spécialement les LFS-1 a planchers surbaissés, qui sont des vrais tas de ferraille.
