backpacking

Im interested in hiking/backpacking a few days in Quebec and natutrally want to spend a few days in Montreal. Can anyone recommend a good park/trail that is possibly close to Montreal or has transporation near by that is easy to jump on? Bus or Train? I want to avoid renting a car while Im up...
