More or less 4 years... with many breaks during that time

I would say that 30% were over 50yo, 40% between 40-50yo and 30% under 40yo. Maybe it has to do with the midlife crisis, just a thought ;) These numbers are only based from from what I saw (which might not be a real representation of the situation).

When I was still a SP, I would say the average age of hobbyist was somewhere close to 46yo
