Notre-Dame is tricky because it’s a busy street so it does get patched frequently which kind of sucks. You memorize holes and then they get patched and new ones appear

I mean honestly our roads are like a kinder surprise.

You never know which street is going to get railed and ruin your day with a pot hole

Imo around the airport where you have a lot of heavy lot trucks… the roads are abysmal.

Chemin de la cote de liesse along the 40 starting from the 15 crossing.

This winter was somehow harsher on it this year and it suddenly literally became a warzone ...

Just found out last year it was voted in the top 5
Top 5 worst roads in Montreal
It even has a reddit thread lol

Heading east or west?
I mean, both are bad.
Also the 40 itself from the Decarie heading west, I learned quickly to avoid the middle lane.
Also, every. fucking. time. I come home in an intact vehicle with air in the tires, it's like I won a video game.

Heading East. The most damaged part of it this year somehow is right before Rockland.

I drive often in this section and the damage has been dramatic but most importantly really sudden.

I just hate when people are trying to avoid them when there are cars around them ... At some point you just can only drive slow.

Driving during the day isn’t too bad, you can see them and try to avoid or slow down when it’s safe to do so. At night you’re just falling into sinkholes by surprise

I had to get towed on that strip because of a flat tire (and no, no the car does not come with a dummy/donut). I tried to convince the guy to just fill the tire and let me get closer to home, I also asked him if he had a spare that I could borrow... finally he was just like "ma'am? do you have any idea how many people I've towed on this strip?, there's nothing else to do but tow the car" so I let him, and crankily went home to bed. Now I have an air pump so that I can make myself feel useful when it happens again.

I pray every time that my springs don't get wrecked

Ellerdale road, everything around the Dorval circle. Cote de liesse service road. Notre Dame East basically from Pie IX right into the downtown core is especially brutal. I keep seeing patch guys just banging down filler with a shovel too and just using a flat hand tool to level it off. It's no wonder that the hole comes back a week later. We're not even truly into spring yet so it's going to get even worse and that hardly seems possible. These pot holes are keeping the tow truck companies in business though. I can't even tell you how many cars I've seen with the rims crushed from going through a pothole at speed. Especially the days right after a rain or snow when the depth or presence of the potholes aren't obvious. It's a fucking disgrace. A mayoral candidate could run simply on the platform of fixing the roads and probably win. People are so fed up with it.

We have nice bicycle paths though free of potholes.

you must be cycling somewhere that's not in the west island! lol. Bike paths along Donegani and the Lakeshore are definitely not pothole free! :)
