I was walking Sainte-Catherine (after beind dropped at my demand by our driver Joe safely wich was super nice to drive me twice, also Kiki drove me once too so big thx to her as well) i was walking what was a short walk to my hotel and i saw a guy laying down in a pool of his own blood... I dunno what happened. Paramedics were already there. But even tough i realize how absurde it is now (im not trained in that) i asked if i could do anything ...a reflex i guess. Paramedic guy was nice and said "non monsieurs" and explained they got it.

I heard the dude voice wich was laying down and he was NOT in a good condition.

After i was told there was nothing i could do i continued my way. I spoke wich a small group near my hotel and when i said "was he hit by a car or something" they said it was a walking street ...wich is true as i realized. So i fear the poor guy was stabbed or something.

I don't know him... But when you raise in a small town stuff like this hit hard. You not use to this... And ill fully admit im not sober so emotions are even stronger.

Im not religious but "prayers" to this guy hopefully he makes it".

unnamed, crime-ridden city
I remember back in january 2019. It was a bit around dinner time. It was cold and icy. And a lady with groceries got hit by car. I heard the commotion from afar, but i witnessed a tiny bit. The lady was attended. And i too, wanted to do something about it. The medics arrived. I remember feeling bad about it. The poor lady. Things like that reminds you life is precious.

I got savagely attacked with a baseball bat 30 years ago. Miraculously, after 3 hard hits I was still standing and yeld my life and they run away.
Half an hour after, I almost felt unconscious while the policeman was talking to me. I didn’t know I was in shock.
It took me a while to get over it…I still remember like if it had happen yesterday…
Luckily, I only had my hand broken. Don’t know what would have happened if I would have felt down during the attack.

When I lived in the south west of Montreal and in the village I've witnessed a lot of things like this :( it's very upsetting. I'm sorry

My bus stop next to my high school one day had a crowd around it one afternoon. Someone jumped and obviously didn't make it. I saw their legs all bent and bone sticking out. I took another route home that day, but I thought about that day and what it would take for someone to give up and have no support system to stop that. In university, one girl who just started was on the sports team didn't get the best grades her first term as she got before in hs jumped after coming back from Christmas break. I heard that the coach was incredibly demanding and if she took a course load that was overwhelming then I could see how stressful that would be. Perhaps it was her first time not performing well and finding her limits, but it would have also been so easy for an upperclassman to have prevented that tragedy either helping her pick a lighter course load, talking to someone about the coach or just telling her that an upward trend is still seen positively for graduate or professional school.

Sometimes we walk around like we are our own protagonists, but both us and the others around us can be very fragile and vulnerable both physically and mentally. Patience, understanding and sympathy is so important.
