I just hope it doesn't rain that much. You might also find me in the newest restaurant opening at the same time in T&T lol
For those interested there is a lion dance show on Saturday

For their soft opening they only have laksa (chicken, beef or seafood) or curry (pork, beef or chicken) + drink (HK style ice lemon tea, milk tea or ying yang [tea+coffee])

Deer garden, the cantonese bistro type chain

Kind of interesting, Deer Garden is from BC, and seems to be doing ok in Canada but their extension to NYC failed.

Their signature dish, the fish soup noodles, just seems like an Asian variation on Chipotle, another slop-bowl-have-it-your-way

As for my summer plans: Well, I did Le P'tit Train bike tour at the end of last summer, and got out to a sugar shack this spring, maybe the Veloroute Gourmande sometime? I've also never seen the rest of the Eastern Provinces. I had Magaden food (seal lasagna!) for the first time recently at Les Iles en Ville, and that kind of piqued my curiosity.

Maybe it does for others too. After all, we're all phoque fans here, lol.

Or, possibly a visit to Europe for FKK-ing.

Asian and especially Hong Kong dispora is more represented in Canada than NYC which is the main target or the target clients who will appreciate the food they proposed.
Hence it doesn't surprised me the failure in this market. You really need to target your audience.
They actually had a location in DT called initially Pink Kong which transitioned to a Deer Garden and will switch to a Vietnamese chain.
The first 2 attempts missed the target somehow.
Whereas in South shore with the high Asian community concentration is doing well.

And now with the Saint Croix one they should be fine. At least they have me helping them having sells lol

That an interesting festival!

They opened their NYC location during the pandemic and got killed by the local competition. If there is one think NYC doesn't lack, it's demand if you are good. Hey Tea, another Chinese bubble tea chain makes $80k-$150k CDN per location In Toronto per month. They make $300k-$500k US per location per month in NYC. Now the NYC franchises are called ? tea because they broke off from corporate that tried to takeover the franchisees. These places aren't also dependent only on asians it's also a lot of locals and tourists that go to these places.
