Just finished “Paying For It” by Chester Brown. I’ve mentioned it on “Random thoughts”

I have been reading the Orphan X series by Gregg Hurwitz about an disavowed OCD government assassin and have been listening to the Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobook series, which is absolutely the best audiobook performance/adaptation I've ever heard. Jeff Hayes is positively brilliant.
I have a largely complete collection of vintage Playboys, which I have been reading in sequence. I am now in 1970. Many "real time" articles about the first years of the Nixon administration, the Chicago 7 trial, and of course the Vietnam war. Replace names like Nixon, Tom Hayden, Abbie Hoffman, and Vietnam with Trump, Comey, Tish James, and Iran, and you'd think these articles were written 56 minutes ago, not 56 years

My paradox: I love books but dislike reading, because my eyesight is poor (still need one more eye operation so that both eyes are able to see properly without glasses/contacts) and they tend to dry up when reading for extended periods of time.
So my fix is listening to audiobooks. I enjoy listening to anything by H.P. Lovecraft and from the Dragonlance cycle.

Never a day without reading, I am reading James Patterson's 17th suspect right now, finished the first 16 of this series.

Women's murder club! Yey!
I read something similar these days, I didn't know what to read but wanted to stay with the detective thriller genre so I chose DCI Jack Logan series, by JD Kirk. A Litter of Bones is the first book. I believe there is something like 20 books so I hope it's good until the end.
Another author that I enjoy reading is
James rollins, his sigma force series are worth a read, I have finished them all to date.
The way he includes true facts and history to his books is a plus. You get educated as well as having the story keep you wanting more with every paragraph. He does his homework.
He also has other books out, like "Subterranean ", a real treat and I can't wait to read it again.
