I know this one girl in my personal life who's a Hellraiser fan and openly admits she wishes she had a real puzzlebox and wants to turn into a cenobite lol haha
Yeah, I understand the inclination to do so. I think it's metaphorical, though. I believe many people desire to go outside this realm of experience, to ascend into higher states of awareness. You see this tendency in music, art & literature. Think of the Doors, 'Break on through,' or Huxley's 'Doors of Perception,' by the way, the inspiration the name of the band, The Doors.

The old one or the remake? I never watch the two versions. Read about it and got grossed out. Even I have my limits. Especially seeing a pic of how the girl got impaled.
i've seen it, the movie is just bad in general lol. i prefer hostel 2 from that director!
2013 version. And i agree about the gore, but i love this kind of stuff. I've seen a few grossed out scenes in real life and it did not bother me.
I saw a street dweller get his head squashed by a truck. They scooped up his brain in a bag.
Saw a guy get his leg ripped off above the knee, that was not nice.
One guy came across his upper legs with a circular saw, now that was gross but kinda of cool, and very bloody. I saw the insides of his leg.
