Ajay, I'd suggest Crescent Street between St. Catherine's and De Maissoneuve(sp?). There's pretty much something for everyone there. Just barhop up and down the street and linger if it feels right.

Re: '4' hotel on Hotwire The Sofitel was listed as 4.5 *s. 4 *s have been Hilton, and lately, Sheraton. I've never personally heard of anyone getting the Omni on Hotwire, although it shows up under the vacation packages.

Re: Hilton Bonaventure My understanding is that Priceline bookings include the PST (which is non-refundable) but not the GST, which is refundable (hope I got this right. I know one is refundable and the other isn't). Therefore, its like getting your refund up front.

Seems more hotels are now using Hotwire to book their rooms which is making it harder to figure what you'll get. Never had heard of the Omni coming up on Hotwire, but they show up in the vacation or package product. Shearton seems to have abandoned Priceline and is now coming up as a 4*...

Re: Hotwire or Priceline hotels? THe 4* has been the Hilton (the 4.5* the Sofitel). The 3.5* has been the Wyndham and the 3*, I believe, has been the HI Select.

Re: Best Western Europa That's funny, I don't recall a doorman at the hotel. However, to access the elevators you must pass the front desk and the lobby is small. Its conceivable that some ladies have been stopped on their way past the desk, or that the hotel now has a doorman.

Europa Stayed at the Europa last summer and it was a decent hotel. Very nice bathrooms, rooms decent. Nice and roomy, also. Probably 3 star level. Location is great. Neither of the two ladies I saw had any complaints about it. Of course, they might have simply kept them to themselves.

Hotel De La Montagne Don't know how long it will last, but the De La Montagne has Spring rates available through next weekend at $140C.
